Cask at the White Horse Old Ale Festival, 27th Nov 09. Very dark reddish brown, rather hazy. Aroma is quite muted but the damsons come through in the mouth to give a sweet jammy taste. Fruity and sweet, amply supported by a full body. A good winter beer.

On cask at Sheaf View Sheffield 9/1/10. Very dark purply black with small loose head. Sweet berry fruit aroma mixed with coffee and chocolate. Quite raisiny (plus coffee, chocolate) on the tongue with good full mouth feel. Alcohol masked well. Nice.

(Gravicask at White horse, Parson’s Green, London, 28 Nov 2009) Dark brown colour, almost black, with brief beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark fruit and coffee. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, chocolate, dark fruit, prunes and a slightly vinous finish with a bittersweet touch. Slightly more than medium body, rather sweet. Nice and tasty porter with a fruity touch.
