Cask at the White Horse Old Ale Festival, 27th Nov 09. Somewhat hazy russet colour. Medicinal American hop aroma. Flavour is similar and there is a lingering finish. Quite harsh and has a heavy palate for an IPA.

Lacing-head, near-clear dark amber. Well hopped to the nose. Rich hopped with pine needles and citric shells shaped by sweet malts beneath. Bittersweet tail lingering all the way back to the city centre. Quite heavy to drink. Half pint, cask at Hillsborough Hotel, Upper Valley of Beer in Sheffield 1 Oct 10.

Cask at the Hillsborough Hotel. Looks amazing in the glass, very little on the nose but satisfying drinking to be had. Not an amazing IPA but a very solid effort nonetheless

Cask Stillage at the Roundhouse, Barrow Hill 22/05/2010 Fruity hop aroma. Golden coloured fruity and very hoppy. A little sweet on the palate with a hint of dryness in a lasting malt finish.

On cask at the Rake. I really enjoyed this but rate it slightly higher then Glyn’s brew so this is why it gets a 4.5. A lovely IPA. Full bodied and hoppy and not an insane IBU but a good IBU. Well balanced and a good malt character. Consumed at the Rake and with Pete Brown in the book event upstairs. An awesome IPA one I hope does well and my vote for best British beer for 2009. Keep up the awesome work Stu. Edit - 30th March 2010. I got confused with the IPA but Stu cleared this up. Thanks.

Cask, taster from Tom at The Rake, cheers Tom. My god, the hops on the aroma. Really good hoppy ipa. Just takes you over. Some toffee, some yeast, some metallic feel in the mouth. Good though. One of the best English IPAs

Bottled from Beer Ritz December 09, pungent tropical aromas and grassy on the nose, big mouthfuls of fruity citrus hops on the palate. But with great malt balance. Would stand up to most US IPA’s. A really great beer.

A Mes rate. Cask at the White Horse.
This is a spectacular Brit IPA. Attractive hazy amber. Big grassy and floral hop nose with hints of pepper and alcohol. Flavour is cat piss (in a nice New Zealand type way), grass, a ton of citric bitterness and some excellent body from the malt that supports it all really well and really lets the hops sing. Superb length, equally good fruit in the aftertaste. Great stuff and good enough for me to get another even in the middle of a Sloaney Pony festival.

(Cask, by gravity, at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 29 Nov 2009) Reddish amber colour with a foamy, beige head. Fruity, hoppy nose with grapefruit, orange peel and pine needles. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of grapefruit, pine needles, resin and orange peel. Slightly more than medium body, fairly sweet. Very hoppy and bitter, might be the hoppiest English beer I’ve tried. Stunning stuff!
