Crown Valley is an interesting one, given they seem to have many misses but a few bulls eyes. This one isn’t a double bull, but a double 18.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
The aroma of this beer is apparent immediately upon pouring out this beer, for the resin and floral hops hit you with a hint a dough yeast finishing up the nose. The appearance is a hazy orangeish golden color with a large white head, and the taste is mildly bitter and slightly sweet. The palate combines a medium body, average carbonation, slick texture, and a slightly bitter finish.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a hazy orange with adequate khaki colored head that hung around for awhile leaving some lacing. Aroma is mainly caramel malt with some feint alcohol. Taste follows and is initially sweet with some citrus bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied. I don’t know what I paid for this but it was much cheaper than the other beers. Considering the price it was better than I expected but it is well below average for the style. Definitely not in the West Coast mold which I prefer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle. Pours a hazy straw yellow color with a small white head. It smelled piney and grassy. Lots of sweetness, too. Taste is very sweet and malty. Strong toffee and some caramel flavors. Some piney bitterness, but not enough to balance out the sweetness. Medium bodied. Lightly crisp throughout.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz. Dark hazy orange. Alcohol is well hidden here and this could sneak up on me. Thick wintry spruce and a touch of citrus in the aroma. Flavor is full bodied and smooth. The finish is a little rubbing alcohol and lots of pine.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Hazy medium orange body, thick puffy, pillowy cream head. Chewy, slick, oily sugared grapefruit and orange nose; floral. Hot, sharp body with citrus peel; sweet and kind of sickly with sugared bitter rind and prickly alcohol. Rough palate and too sugary once the alcohol wears off.
