3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
A nice copper body with an off white head that had good retention and some nice lacing. Aroma did have a nice resin hop note, but there was also a slightly dirty sense to it that seemed to diminish the resin notes. Some mild caramel malts and some almost toasty malts. Flavor was similar with the exception of a mild presence of grapefruit in the after taste. Body was somewhat dry and the carbonation seemed elevated. All in all it was not a bad beer, my only complaint was the carbonation.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a dense but clean hard amber with two fingers of dense and creamy head. The nose is very rich, hop candy and a heavy sweetness, lots of pine resin, some alcohol, citrus rind, burnt sugar, and malty. Dense in the mouth. Flavor isnít bad, I just quickly grow weary of it. Very heavy and dense flavors, pine resin and alcohol for sure. Lots of body with strong and heavy flavors. Rich and dense malt sweetness and heavy hop resin character.

Bottle; poured a nice orange amber color with an off white head. Aroma of orange, citrus and toast. Pleasant flavor, good orange flavor. Mildly hopped, solid caramel backbone. Very easy to drink.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Canalís. Pours out a decent copper color with a two finger off white head. Aroma is of some grassy/citrus hops, light sweet caramel malts, bread and some light cardboard and alcohol. Taste is a lot of one dimensional up front hop bitterness, develops a little as it warms, but just kind of generic with sweet sticky alcohol balance. eh....

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance: Very lightly hazy with a orange hue with golden edges. The light tan head is towering over the body with excellent retention.
Aroma: Grapefruit and orange comes to mind with a splash of pineapple and mango. The malt base comes through slightly, adding caramel and biscuit.
Taste: This is a nicely balanced IIPA with a lot of hop flavor. The malt base is a tad thin at times and a tad thick with a distinct homebrew quality to it. Caramel and a slight nuttiness are noticed mostly by the end with a mild bitterness and a candied orange citrus finish. Hints of grapefruit and floral overtones are noted. The finish is homebrew reminiscent though.
Palate: Medium bodied, moderately carbonated.
Overall: The more I drink this the less I want to. Itís not really a bad beer, but it definitely lacks the polish of a professionally brewed beer. This has homebrew quality written all over it. It feels slightly underattenuated and thereís too much of a lingering chalkiness to this.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Nose is very strong citrus rind with some caramel and a little dank wood (pine), mild spice and floral caress. Dull, dusky orange body with a dense, rocky beige head. Taste again very hoppy, medium bitterness with lots of bitter orange peel and sweet orange peel, perfumed essence of orange with some tangerine, apricot, pine, spice, lavender; oily full body is very crisp without being too aggressive, juicy, sweet to overcome the bitterness but not cloying or really all that sugary. Has a great density and a claustrophobic fruity hop character that I like here (a little like immersion in invasive honeysuckle). No warmth or burn, but heft behind the fun.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
No head to speak of, amber gold color. Faint malt aroma. Malty palate is overpowered by the alcohol. I canít say much more than ... itís beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz of meh from Crossroads. Poured a honey amber body under a smaller white frothy head. Aroma of rotting citrus, honey, flowers, dry bread. Body is medium to slightly fuller, avg carbonation, lingering flavor and a sweeter bittereness on the end. Flavor of citrus rind, dough, lemon, red grapefruit, earthy, tangerine rind. Meh.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Crown Valley Gunslinger has an extremely thick, foamy, spongy, off-white head, an initially clear (hazes up when the bottom caked contents are swished and poured in), orange, bubbly appearance, and heavy lacing left behind. The aroma is very odd- soapy? biscuit? Canít say. Taste is sweetness, white bread, floral hops, and mellow bitterness. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Crown Valley Gunslinger finishes mostly dry and easy going. No alcohol and not much bitterness is picked up, here. RJT

UPDATED: JUN 20, 2014 This beer is the bomb. No wait a minute, itís the Gunslinger. If you like a hop punch in the face this is for you. Totally see the Old West Cowboy riding off firing his gun in the air. If you drive a Prius and wear a tie to work, you will not like this. This is a Top Tier. IPA.
