Aroma is pumpkin puree, a hint of allspice, toffee and booze. There is also a porter-like characteristic to the smell. Pitch black with a large tan head. I can taste the booze, which I donít mind in an Imperial Stout. I am also getting slight hop bitterness, smoke, cocoa, pumpkin, a little spice with sweetness in the aftertaste. Really good. Unlike a lot of pumpkin beers I have tried, the pumpkin pie spices are not overdone. The palate is great - thick, chewy, perfect for such a big beer. I highly recommend this one. I canít wait for it to get colder here so I can try it again.

Crown Valley Imperial Pumpkin Smash is a pretty tasty pumpkin ale that is almost as good as the top rated ones (like Southern Tier Warlock). Pours dark with a thin but adequate head. Intoxicating aromas of pumpkin and spices. Taste is a bit over the top with the pumpkin, spices and sweetness but still good. The ABV is not real noticeable in the taste. Pumpkin Smash is a nice brew but definitely not sessionable.

355ml bottle. Black pour, smells and tastes like pumkin pie, there is a considerable stout note as well, its competant, if a bit past its date.

Nice fall spice aroma. Nice stout color, dark with a decent head. Full fall spice flavor with pumpkin but still has a beer taste.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours dark brown with a large tan head. The aroma has rich fleshy pumpkin, pumpkin pie spices, graham cracker crust, vanilla and mild chocolate. It has a full rich body with some soft carbonation. The taste is like the aroma with some harsher spices added in. The finish seems like there are earthy / woody hops as well. Pretty good for a pumpkin stout.

12oz bottle pours dark brown black with a finger of offwhite head. Nose is spice heavy with nutmeg, clove, molasses, brown sugar and some bitter bakerís chocolate. Taste is like liquid Indian pudding, nutmeg, big molasses, clove, herbal, vegetal gourd, with a backdrop of dusty bitter cocoa and a somewhat thin mouthfeel. Finish is pumpkin pie with spice, spice, and more spice

Really disappointing. Didnít even finish it. Strange off flavors/spices prevail. Pours a nice opaque black with a reddish tan head. Nose is interesting- spices, sweet malt, pumpkin and chocolate all come through. First few sips are ok- pumpkin is definitely there- but sort of morphs into this strange brew where nothing co-operates. Vanilla and other spices taste synthetic, strange sweetness from the malts and pumpkin gives it an odd mouthfeel. Smoke in there confuses issue even more. Altogether too much happening and nothing really working. Weird.

This is what you want on the autumn/winter months. Rich malts with a nice balance between of hops, velvet smooth a bit of pumpkin at the end. Lovely

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Much less a pumpkin pie beer and more of an imperial stout brewed with pumpkin. The pumpkin and spice are evident but take a backseat to the big chocolate malt and roasty/smoky notes.

2.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
The aroma is sweet and spicy with notes of burnt malt and coffee but no pumpkin. The appearance is black with a foamy head. The taste is like the aroma and bitter. The palate is typical. Overall this is disappointing for a lack of pumpkin but could be called a spice cake beer.
