Our imperial pumpkin stout is deliciously roasted with dark chocolate and toffee notes with a hint of smoke and a little spice from the hops that give it a pine note. The pumpkin adds body and character for a great beer.

Aroma is pumpkin puree, a hint of allspice, toffee and booze. There is also a porter-like characteristic to the smell. Pitch black with a large tan head. I can taste the booze, which I don’t mind in an Imperial Stout. I am also getting slight hop bitterness, smoke, cocoa, pumpkin, a little spice with sweetness in the aftertaste. Really good. Unlike a lot of pumpkin beers I have tried, the pumpkin pie spices are not overdone. The palate is great - thick, chewy, perfect for such a big beer. I highly recommend this one. I can’t wait for it to get colder here so I can try it again.

12oz bottle from ? Black hue, zero visibility with mostly diminishing dark brown head. Virtually no lacing. Aromas of pumpkin, licorice, dark malt, sweet candy, coffee, booze and whipped topping. (The smell was pretty awesome overall) Sweet and strong licorice and pumpkin taste up front with more of a dark malt and whipped topping finish. At first I thought it was going to be too sweet but it got better through the experience. Dry mouth feel. Really good beer, would have again for sure.

From a bottle at the Nook. Pours dark nut brown with a creamy beige head and decent lacing. Tastes like vanilla, caramel, booze, roasted pumpkin, sweet brown sugar, and whipped cream. Light medium body and low carbonation. Smells like vanilla, caramel, booze, whipped cream, brown sugar, and some roasted pumpkin.

Dark brown on color. No head. Aroma is heavily spiced. All spice. Cinnamon. Apple. Pumpkin. Really nice. Taste is bitter upfront and sweet in finish. Medium body and thin texture. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Wow - I don't like pumpkin beer that much, but the flavor, the mouthfeel, this is the best I've ever had ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Crown Valley Imperial Pumpkin Smash is a pretty tasty pumpkin ale that is almost as good as the top rated ones (like Southern Tier Warlock). Pours dark with a thin but adequate head. Intoxicating aromas of pumpkin and spices. Taste is a bit over the top with the pumpkin, spices and sweetness but still good. The ABV is not real noticeable in the taste. Pumpkin Smash is a nice brew but definitely not sessionable.

355ml bottle. Black pour, smells and tastes like pumkin pie, there is a considerable stout note as well, its competant, if a bit past its date.

Nice fall spice aroma. Nice stout color, dark with a decent head. Full fall spice flavor with pumpkin but still has a beer taste.

Pours dark brown with a large tan head. The aroma has rich fleshy pumpkin, pumpkin pie spices, graham cracker crust, vanilla and mild chocolate. It has a full rich body with some soft carbonation. The taste is like the aroma with some harsher spices added in. The finish seems like there are earthy / woody hops as well. Pretty good for a pumpkin stout.

12oz bottle pours dark brown black with a finger of offwhite head. Nose is spice heavy with nutmeg, clove, molasses, brown sugar and some bitter baker’s chocolate. Taste is like liquid Indian pudding, nutmeg, big molasses, clove, herbal, vegetal gourd, with a backdrop of dusty bitter cocoa and a somewhat thin mouthfeel. Finish is pumpkin pie with spice, spice, and more spice

Really disappointing. Didn’t even finish it. Strange off flavors/spices prevail. Pours a nice opaque black with a reddish tan head. Nose is interesting- spices, sweet malt, pumpkin and chocolate all come through. First few sips are ok- pumpkin is definitely there- but sort of morphs into this strange brew where nothing co-operates. Vanilla and other spices taste synthetic, strange sweetness from the malts and pumpkin gives it an odd mouthfeel. Smoke in there confuses issue even more. Altogether too much happening and nothing really working. Weird.
