Aroma is pumpkin puree, a hint of allspice, toffee and booze. There is also a porter-like characteristic to the smell. Pitch black with a large tan head. I can taste the booze, which I don’t mind in an Imperial Stout. I am also getting slight hop bitterness, smoke, cocoa, pumpkin, a little spice with sweetness in the aftertaste. Really good. Unlike a lot of pumpkin beers I have tried, the pumpkin pie spices are not overdone. The palate is great - thick, chewy, perfect for such a big beer. I highly recommend this one. I can’t wait for it to get colder here so I can try it again.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thanks to Aurelius for the trade! Deep dark viscous pour, quickly fading off-white head. Aroma has a funky spiciness to it with some orange cake mix notes, a touch of spicy liqueur. Flavor is bold with some strong pumpkin spice notes, some slight salty soy sauce notes, some very bittersweet dark unsweetened chocolate notes. Mouthfeel has a nice creaminess to it. Nice novelty, but glad this was only 12 oz - a bomber would have gotten cloying.

2014 bottle. Pours black with a cinnamon khaki head. Aroma is canned pumpkin, cinnamon, and vanilla. Taste was the same with a bit of chocolate and a nice pine bitterness at the end. Medium-full mouthfeel.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Spice, vanilla, vegetal, a hint of smoke. Pours dark black with a light tan head that fades fairly quickly leaving a thin coating on the glass. Medium bodied. Sweet, just a hint of smoke. Spice. There is some legit pumpkin flavor in there. A slight bitterness on the finish. A little after warmth. Not bad.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nearly black with a tan head. The aroma is complex with wood, chocolate, caramel, and cinnamon. It has a full body with creamy texture and average carbonation. The taste is sweet but finishes a little roasted with a touch of alcohol.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
Random bottle from World of Beer. Never heard of these guys but this sounded interesting. Pours black with a khaki to mocha head. Aroma of sweet pumpkins, some cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg spice, sweet cream and sugar. Flavor is cloying chocolate pumpkin spice with an artificial sweetener finish, and maybe a hint of roast. Thin, medium carb, blegh. This is pretty much undrinkable.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle poured into snifter. Pours a dark cola color with a khaki finger head that dissolves into a thin collar rather quickly. Small, spotty lacing follows. Aroma is pumpkin, cocoa, nutmeg, vanilla. Flavors of char and big spicy notes prevail up front. The back is vanilla, oak, pumpkin, and some ashy spice. A decent stout by itself, made more unique with the large pumpkin spice element. Would try again but not worth cellaring.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Color is dark cola brown, half finger of cream colored head that dwindles down and stays around the rim. Smells of roasted pumpkin, bubble gum, dark chocolate, nutmeg, toffee, vanilla. Taste is roasty char, cigarette ash with some chocolate pumpkin sweetness and a fair amount of roasty hops on the finish. Sweetness is tame and is more roasty and hoppy than anything. The pumpkin and spices just compliment and don't overpower. The alcohol is fairly biting and apparent. Overall it's an interesting take on the ever growing pumpkin beer fad.

4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
It pours black with a dark brown head. It has the aroma of coffee, chocolate, pumpkin, nutmeg, and cinnamon. It has a strong aroma. It has a strong taste a vanilla, cinnamon, chocolate, and pumpkin. It’s good, but the spices are a wee bit overpowering. Even with the overpowering spicy taste, it is still a top stout.

This beer was top notch. Great pumpkin and spice aroma. Pours a very black with a tan head. Good smooth palate with the right amount of carbonation. Strong pumpkin pie spice with caramel and cinnamon notes. Very dessert-like but not too heavy. Great holiday beer.
