2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at the brewery. A slightly hazy pale golden color with a head that fades quickly. Aroma of citrus, malt and spice. Taste of malt, bit of citrus and pepper. Decent bitterness and lingering pepper. Moderate body, decent beer but not keen on the peppery feel.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
650 ml. Nose is toast, earthy toffee, zesty citrus and perfume. Hazy burnt-orange body is fairly active and sustains a quarter inch of creamy, beady bubbles. Taste is toffee, dusty toasted grain, flowery lemon-dish soap herbal hops and a bit of citrus zest. A nice touch of capsaicin develops a little later and lingers on the finish. Light-medium body has medium carbonation that is mostly smooth with only a few flareups in the mouth. The overall balance is there, but the flavors are swinging wildly all over the place. With a little tweaking could be really nice.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: JUN 25, 2014 Bottle I picked up in St. Louis. Pours cloudy gold. White head. Nose/taste of chili pepper, earth, old slightly rotten oranges and old citrus. Some malt. Medium body. Started to grow on me the more I drank it. My first couple ounces would have been a 2.5-2.8 range.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber from TWCP. A little haze in the golden beer and an off white head that leaves some lacing. The aroma brings primarily peppers. First sip is the serrano pepper and sourness. As well as the serrano there is black pepper that is tasted.I do taste some malts. I bought a couple of these to trade and am hope they like pepper beers more than I do.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Poured into a pint glass out of a 22oz bottle.
Pours a clear amber with a one finger off-white head. Decent head retention and ok lacing.
The aroma is straight up hot sauce. Reminds me of that hot sauce in the clear bottle with all of the tiny peppers floating in it. I really don’t pick up on much else as the smell is quite strong.
The taste is not any better. It is really like drinking a bottle of hot sauce. Any other nuances in there are buried by the sauce. Bitterness is light as is the mouthfeel.
No way I can choke this down and my drain gets to drink it. I don’t mind some chili beers but there has to be a balance there. This is just awful.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle, shared by phaleslu. Labeled 6.5%, 63 IBU. Orange amber color, totally hazy. Thin off-white head. Medium to bigger body. Smoother, crisp, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Moderate sweet taste, light bitter. Good, citrusy, apricot, tropical hop aroma. Light caramel, some biscuit. Peppers are subtle, but noticeable when looked for. Pepper comes out more in the finish. very nice - subtle, but nice. Good pepper pale ale.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
22 oz. bottle via in-person STL trade. Pours a hazy gold color with a big, fizzy white head that settles quickly. The gold clears up a bit, too. The aroma is a vegetal, spicy green pepper with some balancing pale malts. The flavor is a bit less peppery, but still vegetal. Also some pale malts and grass and straw. Light-bodied, with medium-high carbonation and a vegetal, lightly spicy mouthfeel. Pepper beers are compulsory for Missouri brewers, I suppose. I probably won’t go for this one again, as much as I like Crown Valley overall.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
The aroma of this beer mixes a strong floral hop aroma with a hint of peppers, and the appearance combines a hazy orangeish golden color with a large white head that fades fairly quickly. The taste has a nice heat to it that doesn’t really burn, which is combined with a mild sourness, and the palate fuses an average carbonation, slick texture, medium body, and a pepper finish.
