Bottle 33 cl. Pours an amber brown with a big off-white head and an aroma of fresh fruits, slightly acid, hops and some malts. The flavor is not too sweet, there’s some notes of roasted malts, toffee, sweet chocolate, mild hops and vinegar. Not too bad.

330ml bottle. Clear, copper-ish mahogany colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige to ochre head. Fruity, slightly vinous aroma, notes of cherry, morello, blackberry, diffuse red wine-spiciness in the background, marchpane basis; cherry fruity notes have a slightly artificial wine gum touch. Taste is dry, fruity, hints of morello, blue grapes and their parings, cautious remnants of spiciness. Variegated but slightly anaemic.

Wow, wat een geweldige dubbel is dit. In de neus ruik je mooie geuren van zoet. De smaak deed me aan lichte caramel en confeite kersen denken. Ook in het glas mooi donker en een mooie schuimkraag.

Stubby 330 ml bottle from a trade with Countbeer, thanks! ABV 7.5%, well past its BBD, wow this is seven years old! Opens with a loud pop, there is still hope for this one. Pours a dark brown beer, very murky. Two fingers of beige head, with good retention and medium lacing left on the glass after the head has collapsed. Malty aroma, some hints of caramel, light oxidation. Taste is sweet and very malty, lots of caramel, light oxidation that actually helps break the sweetness down a bit, light roasted malts and traces of chocolate. Medium thick body, lively carbonation. Well I am impressed by this one, a seven year old beer that has hold up that well. Still, I’d like to try a fresher sample too.
