Hops climb up twine that’s just loosely tied to the trellis with a half hitch knot— and this Imperial IPA is just loosely tied to tradition. The Mosaic hop imparts surprisingly floral aromas instead of the more expected grapefruit-y notes. On the palate, complex layers of flavors might remind you of guava, mango, stone fruit and lemon, unraveling your idea of what an Imperial IPA should be.

Bottle - pours a clear golden amber color with a fluffy head that mostly dissipates. Big nose full of pine, mango, floral notes, a touch of malt and some herbaceousness. A lot going on in a mouthful - some pine, some citrus, a hint of tropical fruit, honeysuckle, malty backbone and a long bitter smooth finish. Fantastic

Bright golden colour (note the Brit spelling here, lads) and white foamy head, great slightly sweet nose, lemony aroma, could be more present, though...goes down smooth with loads of accompanying garlic and onion pistanchios. I know the pistachios might have gotten in the way, but I really liked this beer. Suddenly, I’m craving a second one. Alas. Got only one bottle.

On tap at Gourmet Haus. Pours a hazy yellow with full and sustained white head. Aroma mixes equally with malt and hops. Hop aroma is earthy and subtle. Flavor is more towards meadow, grass, biscuit and lemon.

Backlog. 375 ml bottle shared, purchased at Tipsy’s I think. Orange and pretty clear appearance. Fresh hoppy aroma of grapefruit, mango, floral notes, and other citrus and tropical fruits. Similar flavor, zesty, clean and bitter with a crisp, dry finish. Medium to full body. Nicely done overall.

Tap at Tin Bucket A: Clear gold, bubbles wandering from bottom to top, white head. N: Orange peel, marijuana, grapefruit, pineapple, mango, cotton candy. T: Big sweetness, similarly large bitterness. M: Boozy and very resinous, heavy body, crisp carbonation. O: An intense DIPA. I admit that I had a poor opinion of Crux before this and Outcast, but I’ll have to check out their other beers before I make a final pronouncement - because this is rather good.
