COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hops climb up twine that’s just loosely tied to the trellis with a half hitch knot— and this Imperial IPA is just loosely tied to tradition. The Mosaic hop imparts surprisingly floral aromas instead of the more expected grapefruit-y notes. On the palate, complex layers of flavors might remind you of guava, mango, stone fruit and lemon, unraveling your idea of what an Imperial IPA should be.

Muted orange. Minor head. Juicy grapefruit and melon nose. Super juicy fruit resin and pine needles. Some hay and grassy sweet malt sugar and resinous gnus.

On tap at the Beer Baron. It pours a golden color with a white head. The aroma is lightly dank with some sweaty tropical fruit. Papaya candy. The flavor has more candied tropical fruit, fruit basket and touches of citrus. Nice hop character, but a touch sweet. Overall, good.

On draft at Crux with Taylor on a fantastic Friday at sunset. Pours olden yellow, no head. Taste is raw grainy hay, nice floral mosaic hops, soft and delicious. Very nice ipa, love it.

375 bottle Derek A. shared last night... Pours clear golden with a decent enough white head and lacing. Aroma is holy hoppy!! Wowzers... Big mosaic (I guessed Mosaic before Derek dropped the info :-) Huge/light fruity hoppiness with a bit of melon and something that I guess is floral hops... That said, this is an amazing nose. Big bitterness with perfect malty drinkability... light malt with melon hops and a bit of floral essence.. so very drinkable.. I would love Crux all the time.. the hops get a bit catty on the finish, but I am not complaining that hard. Catty vs. Amazing DIPA... Crux wins.

This is the best beer I’ve had in a long time. Too bad it was only on tap for a short time at a local spot. I look forward to trying it again.

Schwing! Beautifully crafted DIPA, rich and flavorful without being overpowering. Amber with nice tight creamy head, light syrupy, hop nose, malt and hops blend perfectly in the flavor, more smoothness on the finish. Awesome!

12.7 oz bottle, bottled on 2/11/14. Pours hazy yellow orange with a small white head that goes to a thin film and leaves some lacing.

The aroma is musty stinky hops with some onion and garlic and a little vomit.

The flavor is sweet sugary malts with some vegetal spicy hops. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, this was not good. Overly sweet with a lot of stinky onion and garlic and a little vomit.

Bottle from Bottleworks, Seattle; bottled Feb 11 ’14
Golden color, hazy, with the light of the sun; the head is small. The aroma is nice, but not deep; more was expected, maybe because the bottle is 3 months old; some fruit salad, not specifically citrusy. Good note, the mouthfeel is quite lean and highly drinkable; the malts are subtle, with light toffee notes; and the hopping is perfect, mostly fruity, with original notes of guava and mango; moderately sweet body, well integrated with the strong bitterness; the final is slightly more resiny, a nice biting end, some sweet orange too.
A bit expensive (6.56$ after tax, 37cl) but very nice.
