Many breweries procure their hops right here in the Northwest. But this beer features the Galaxy hop from Australia, a country famously populated by England’s cast out convicts. Cast Out IPA employs these hops aggressively from hop back to dry hopping stages. Yet the result is a balanced and bronzy ale, with medium hop bitterness complemented by moderate maltiness, showcasing aromas and flavors reminiscent of passion fruit.

Bottle shared on the 42nd floor - thanks to Fergus. Pours clear gold with a dense, frothy white head. Great aroma, lots of vibrant citrus, melon, tangerine, papaya. Light to medium sweet flavor with some piney bitterness, minerals, pale and grainy bread, citrus rind. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly resinous on the finish, with strong grassy bitterness, pale bread, more rindy citrus. Good stuff.

12 oz bottle. Aroma is doughy, peachy, tropical fruit, minerally. Pours bright golden with a medium white head that leaves a little lace. Medium level bitterness with a nice tropical peachy hop profile. Alcohol is damn near completely hidden for an ABV approaching Imperial territory. A little thin maybe. Good stuff, though.

50cl bottle pours out with a clear pure deep gold body that supports a near white head. The aroma offers up mango and pineapple and some spicy onion hops with a nice mildly sweet maltiness in the background. The taste delivers juicy mango hops with plenty of spicy bitter onion dank hoppiness creating a tasty balance. To midway it picks up a nice grounding earthy tea sensation that takes this a little deeper and a little yummier.

@ Mark Spencer 16-3-8: En mycket trevlig öl med stora toner av humle och gula frukter. Fin balans och trevlig eftersmak.

16oz bottle - the appearance is pretty typical with a clear light golden yellow ale with a thin off white head. Big wonderful aroma bursting with tropical fruit notes, grapefruit, grass and a hint of malt. Delicious layered flavors of mango, pineapple, grapefruit, orange zest and biscuit. Delicious

Bottle 500ml. Pours golden with low-medium white head. Some lacing. Aroma is of tropical fruits, malts, citrus. Taste is pretty much the same with some bitterness. Palate: Medium body, soft-medium carbonation, slight alcohol burn. Overall: Quite good.

Bottle from Bridgetown Beerhouse in Portland (as "Outcast"). Funky sort of aroma, toe jam, aged cheese, Galaxy, and tropical fruit. Light copper/Amber color, sudsy head. Flavored of Aus hops, overripe fruit, pine, and apples. Thin-medium body, with a touch of hop texture on the tongue. Interesting stuff, with and overload of aroma hopping.

Bottle scored in MA during a visit to my folks, Dated 12/?/16... figured Id give it a try ! Pours a yellow golden color with two fingers of white foam. Nose is citrus jello, stale grass, hint of onion and soft sweet malts. Palate follows and taste well past its prime. Grassy bitterness, very full round mouthfeel like hop jello... lackluster and disappointing.
