chinchill (4137) - South Carolina, USA - JUL 10, 2016
2015 vintage on tap at the brewery Tasting Room in Bend. Look:opaque, essentially black body with a decent tan head. Sweet, boozy malt-based aroma with notes of vanilla, prunes and faint spices. Flavor: rich, moderately complex mix of the elements from the aroma plus some wood notes. A bit too sweet although thereís a substantial bitter kick in the finish. Feel: slick,medium-full body.

Nice roasty imperial stout aroma. Black in color with a tan head. Malty, with a bite (rye?) with some smokiness and bourbon booze edges. Notes: On at the Denver Rare Beer Tasting í15

Rich, strong, a hint of bitterness. Heavy body, an awful lot of vanilla and a good boozy heat. Yeah, thatís good stuff, nice vein of smoke in it gives it a wonderful peaty quality.

Bottle at THT. Almost black with short lasting light brown head. Massive bourbon, coffee, cocoa beans, lots of roasted malts, dried red fruits, quite herbal too, milk chocolate, cognac, herbal candies. Quite sweet with boozy bitter finish. Over medium bodied.

DuffMan (9284) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 4, 2016
Bottle, shared with PQ and Parksy. Wow-- good thing Iím a Navy Seal, because for anyone else it would have been a HUGE problem to get through the wax, then the cap, then the cork in order to reach this sweet nectar. Sheesh. Viscous near black with a low, finely bubbled brown head. Sweet bourbon and chocolate (the Tootsie Roll comment earlier is apt), very full bodied with a velvety mouthfeel, balanced bitterness. Delicious.

Catch up from last nightís RIS Bottle share. One of the highlights of the evening for me. All around high marks, with the overall feel and flavor the best features. Silky smooth, rich roast grain flavors, mild sweetness, and a pleasant burn.
