A nice Spanish macro option, comparable to Stella Artois with a bit more malty heft to it. Pours a bronze full golden appearance, smells a little off like damp grassy hops, but taste is decently hoppy for a pale lager, and the moderately sweet malty flavor is good too. Finishes with a sour bitterness, maybe a hint of booze. If I'm looking to drink a decent beer on the cheap in España this may be my go-to brew. Haven't tried the regular Cruzcampo but probably won't bother.

jaymobrown (1723) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 10, 2014
This smells like cereal. It looks like clear yellow water. It has a vague bitter taste, but not a lot of sweet adjunct flavor. Short finish. Not wholly terrible.

gEUS (1392) - Linden, BELGIUM - OCT 5, 2014
Bottle purchased at Mercadona Archidona, Andalusia, Spain. Pours clear dark golden. Smell of malt and mold, grain. Light body, sweet. Taste is lots of iron, and malt. This is sooo bad and bland.

Again a malty bitter and not as artificial as many Spanish confection beer is. Could do worse.

AdiBeer (1902) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 31, 2014
Aroma: metallic, light grain and cereals. Appearance: clear, dark gold, medium, frothy white head. Taste: light sweet and bitter. Palate: initial bitters fade away quickly, malty sweets intensify. Overall: aroma is a let down, palate and taste are OK. Bottle at Melia, Sitges.

Form bottle in Cambrils flat. Nothing exceptional color wise , aroma wise and taste wise. Just like a regular lager. Haven't rated the normal Cruzcampo (will do soon) but this one is nothing special. And knowing it is 6,4 alk it is not even good for a summer refreshment. Quite bad overall.

Between amber and lager. Malty and a little bit of hops, a bit metallic. Short dry and sweet finish. If this is the gran reserva I’m not sure their other beers are worth tasting

Pale amber with low head. Honey aroma. Malty taste with syrup tones and balanced bitterness.

Hoppsan (151) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUL 5, 2014
33 cl bottle. Pours light, clear golden with minimal head. Corn syrup in aroma, bittersweet taste and finish with some honey. High carbonation. Nothing premium but the bottle about this high ABV lager. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
