bottle. 10/17/2010 date. dense brown with a light sand colored head. nose is heavily sugared vanilla with overly sweet chocolate syrup and touches of soy and licorice. medium body. abusively cloying throughout. harsh and abrasive texture with a strongly astringent overly-sweetened roast-heavy finish. difficult to drink.

Pour out of 22 oz bottle thanks Aaron, big gushing out of the bottle, maybe a bit of beer left...pour was dark brownish black with off white head, aroma brought notes of roast, slight dark fruits, hints of chocolate, hints of sour fruits as well. Taste is a mix of slight sour fruit, hints of chocolate, milky biscuit and cocoa, slight coffee, finishing fairly sweet, slightly sour.

Bottle @ home. Purchased in one year ago. This fucker shot off like a mofo. Two ounces salvaged from a bomber and shit all over my parents carpet. Gracias. Dark brown appearance with 15oz of head. Tangy, infected, dark berry, roasty chocolate aroma. Tangy, dark berry, sour roasty malty flavor. Infected and fucked up.

Dark brown-almost black pour with a tan head, good retention. Kinda weak on the aroma, balanced, neither hop nor malt are showcased and should be more in-your-face with the "imperial" designation. Palate is super sweet and strangely sour... maybe an infection? I’m lost with this one... is it me? Am I having an off day?

Palate was light to medium bodied anbd crisp. Flavors of roastiness, cola, light bitter chocolate and light carmel with a crisp cola finish.

Bottle from Jason B., here’s to you birthday this week Big 40. Somewhat of a foamer. Pours black with enormous head that lasts! After several minutes, I drank the creamy froth, initially malty and then chocolate in midsip, coffee in finish, and a little harsh. Anise and malt and coffee aroma.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Ernest (5184) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - DEC 7, 2010
Bottle.
Head is initially large, frothy, brown, fully lasting.
Body is dark brown to black.
Aroma is moderately malty (chocolate/cocoa, roasted grain, husks), with notes of vanilla, celery, alcohol.
Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium to full body, velvety/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic.
Very nice large-and-lasting head, but things kinda go downhill from there. The aroma is pretty simple and has some unpleasant husky/vegetal character. Somewhat nice texture and well-hidden alcohol, but syrupy sweet and fatiguing. Just a plain stout with a lot of alcohol, not really something I would call "Imperial".
3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 kptron (15) - Colorado, USA - NOV 28, 2010
22 oz. bottle - #45/500. Roasted chocolaty malt aroma. Jet black in color, frothy brown head. Sweet imperial taste, minimal bitterness. Full, oily body. Soft carbonation with a mildly astringent finish. Overall - a hearty brew for a cold sunday eve.
