Pours with absolutely no head, looks like fizzy pop. Smells just slightly complex with fermenting apples and some dryness in the nose. Very dry taste, not much apple, kind of refreshing sweet middle and dry finish. Not so great.

Bottle 750ml.

Clear medium orange colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate apple, sweet apple, light vanilla. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light light acidic with a average to long duration, apples, wood notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20110619]

Bottle from Epicerie, 82 rue Lamarck, Paris; screwtop
Deep blond color, big bubbles, fizzy, no head retention. The apple is almost absent, very light aroma and flavor; the body is weak, the mouthfeel is dry and the final is rather watery; some acidity too. Wrong.

Bottle from a Carrefour in Cannes, drunk at the hotel in Italy with heavy.
Golden/yellow body, no head. Soft yoghurty corky nose. Acidic, bit appley and dusty taste. Not much to it, biting carbonation. Same remark af for the Doux.

11/10 A 0.75 l screw capped bottle, not corked like most of the ciders. Doggythedog and me found it at the Carrefour in Cannes I think. It poured lighter golden body with small head. Corky aroma, with freshly smashed apples, like Doux, just bit more sharper. Dryer flavor, apples of course, wood. Bitter to sour, thinner bodied. Sour finish that strains the palate. Fine one, still over low expectations, as of the bottle look, but somehow I liked their doux more.

Bottle shared by gethinbeer. Pale golden cider, nice tight bubbly fizziness. Nose is lovely with a light appley sweetness and a little bit of apple skin character. The cider has a fairly rustic quality with a bit of cobwebby funkiness. Lovely

Available at local supermarket. Colruyt stores in Belgium. Pours golden/amber, very thin white head. Aroma of apple, phenolic. Taste, dry, a lot more astringent, and sparkling on the palate, taste of older apple. Definitely dryer than the other version.

Bought under the Ducs de Normandie label Short-lived Champenoise head over metallic red-golden cider. Apples, flowery, green apples that have been sugared, but also lime soap. Rather watery taste, ending on a wry-ish spicy note. Sweet applejuice background, watered down. Some acidity, but more from the CO² than from the fruit. Very fizzy MF, exaggerated in its striving to be a méthode Champenoise. Another very middled CSR product. Too sweet for being called "Brut", just as Jacob states.

Bottled somewhere in Paris. Looks like a discount label from CSR. Dark golden coloured. Quite sweet for a cidre brut. Rather thin and boring. Very high carbonation level. Seems very industrial.
