Here one has to appreciate the context...all Cuban beers are well..lousy, but this is the best, and much better than Cristal. My beer of choice (and in Cuba there is very limited choice) when I am back home in Cuba. Context is my balcony facing the Malecon after walking the streets of Havana... and there Bucanero Fuerte, si es fuerte, it comes on strong, clean, straight to the point. I read these reviews...Lemons??? Seriously cuban beers with Lemons???? Just to let you know, if you find yourself in Cuba this is the beer to ask for, and you will be disappointed, but then comes all the rest, so I will save you some time and even bigger disappointements.

330 ml bottle. Golden with white head Aroma of cardboard and malt sugars. Taste is watery, pale malt, some sweetness and cardboard. Meh.

Had this as the most prominent alternative to Palma Cristal in and around Cuba back in 2001, but its availability was limited, probably as it was certainly a lesser lager than the aforementioned.

330ml bottle from Stewarts Wine Company. Rating from late 2013. Best thing about this beer is the label.

Bottled, 330ml as Cubanero Fuerte Cerveza at The Hand in Hand, Brighton Kemptown. Yellow gold with fizzed white head. Ok, unashamed ticking here, this is a corn like, grainy beer, sweetish, watery. Unlikely ever to re rate. Poor.

As Cubanero Fuerte:
Appearance: Clear golden, some white head.
Aroma: Sweet, malt, grains.
Taste: Sweet, grains, malts, slight metal. Nope, but would maybe be acceptable on a Varadero beach.
Bought: Drinks of the World (Basel), 350 ml, CHF 3.70

Botella 33cl. De color amarillo dorado suave, como su sabor, su espuma casi inexistente y carbónico inapreciable. Lager muy justita.

Dark golden colour. Aroma is very sweet. Flavour is also sweet and malty. Feels like it has a bit of a syrupy edge to it.

Tasted at Bottle on 04/06/2014. Golden yellow with white head. Aroma is bready and malty. Taste is grainy, sweet and bready. Aftertaste is not good. Normal commercial lager. Next one please!

Shameless option for a Cuban beer at a "Cuban" restaurant at the Gold Coast, when I could have had a Mountain Goat. No worse than many other Aussie pale lagers on the menu, and no better. Just cloying, syrupy, very malty, not enticing at all. Tick.
