22oz. Bottle: Aroma of malt, chocolate, slight vanilla, light roasting, and a hint of sourness. Poured very dark brown/black in color with a small, tan/beige head that greatly diminished but lasted throughout as a film on top of the beer, as well as around the edges. Opaque. Sparkling. Ok lacing. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of malt, chocolate, slight coffee, slight sourness, roasting, and a hint of wood. Medium body. Thin, then dry texture. Average carbonation. Malt, roast, chocolate, finish is medium sweet and a touch bitter. 8.5%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

22oz bottle. Clear black color. Minimal light brown head. Roasty dark malts, some hops, but not as big as I usually expect my imperial stouts to be. Less chocolate and coffee aroma. Nice bitter taste, though. Dry texture, lighter carbonation. Good roasty aftertaste. Not the best imperial stout, but still enjoyable in its own way.

650ml bottle pours black in color with a 2 finger light brown head that settles to reveal some nice lacing rings on the glass. Aroma is mild coffee and roasted grains and earthy notes. Taste is coffee, roasted grain and earthy hop bitterness balanced with some light chocolate malty sweetness. Medium bodied and nicely carbonated leaving a nice tingle on the palate. Overall, a very nice imperial stout.

dark brown, slight red hints, thinnest white ring. Nose is chocolate, cookie, light prune sugar, bit sof oxidation. Flavor has chocolate cake and paper oxidation, bit metallic with lightly fruity cake finish, rum and cherry. Thin and old.

22oz bottle: Pours a mostly opaque with a stringy-lacing off-white head. Has a lightly sweet toasted dark caramel malty nose with a hint of dark chocolate and coffee. Start with decent fullness and dark malty sweetness with a mild roasty dark chocolate flavor and earthy hop bitterness before a drier smooth finish. Not quite the body or complexity that I’m used to in most imperial stouts, but not all that far behind. Certainly not offensive.

651mL. Clear maroon with a larger beige head. Sweet brown sugar nose. Nose is lemon tea. Taste is tangy and metallic with heavy minerals and dirty earth. Sharp palate. Tart finish. Eh. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours deep dark brown with a slight wisp of a light brown head. Nose of whiskey, espresso, hippy resins and some dark fruit coalesce into a nostril assaulting melange. Heavy and warming, this is a good after dinner sipper, and not a match for most Mexican cuisine fare. The high alcohol shows some legs on the glass. Flavor is deep and bitter with old leather overtones, not unlike a hearty old ale. Perhaps not to style, but a tasty complex beer nonetheless.

No real aroma except a mild astringent note. Pours like an imperial stout with a deep dark look with dark tan head. Taste is heavy malt with a mild sharp sweetness and a bitter finish. Great mouthfeel nice and chewy. Overall an interesting beer. Probably won’t get it again but not bad by a long shot.

Bomber from GBX. Love the name and label on this one. quite amusing. This looks and smells like an imperial stout. It’s roasty enough in the aroma with espresso tones along with dark fruits and licorice. It seems a little boozy at first but mellows out. The weird plastic bitterness I found in their pale ale is identifiable here as well after I take a sip, but it’s malty enough to mask that some. This is one of the few imperial stouts that suffers as it warms. After a few minutes of coming up to temp, more strangeness arises. The finish is something like cigarette butts. This is drinkable, I guess, but has some definite flaws.
