4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 superspak (1481) - Michigan, USA - MAY 28, 2012
22 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours hazy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Some decent lacing on the glass. Aromas of big orange peel, lemon zest, grapefruit, herbal, grass, pine, lime, caramel, and slight earthy spiciness. Pretty nice aromas here with good strength and balance. Taste of big orange, grapefruit, lemon zest, pine, herbal, caramel, honey, grass, bread, and spiciness. Good amount of bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of orange, grapefruit, pine, herbal, lemon zest, honey, bread, and caramel on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic balance of bitterness as sweetness; with a great hop flavor profile. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy mouthfeel that is quite nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with pretty much no warming noticed at all on the finish. Overall this is a great IPA that is very balanced. It has a nice hop flavor profile, and is extremely easy to drink. Really enjoyed this one.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 bhensonb (9006) - Woodland, California, USA - FEB 17, 2013
Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours orange copper with a transient beige head. Aroma seems floral and citrus. Med body. Flavor is citrus over somewhat roasty malt. Edging kind of close to a hoppy APA. Decent flavor, and it finishes nicely bitter. Underrated methinks.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 dalfaro86 (209) - Mexico City, MEXICO - JAN 23, 2012
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 fiulijn (12200) - Malmö, DENMARK - FEB 23, 2013
Bottle from Legacy Liquor Store, Vancouver Amber color, almost no head. Some hop aroma, cereals, apparently oldish, with some vanilla. The caramel flavor is good, the mouthfeel is lean and quite dry, and it has a very nice lemony character; strong bitterness. Probably not fresh, nevertheless interesting.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 crackedmachine (412) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUN 28, 2011
650 ml bottle. Pours an orange-amber, mostly clear with just a slight haziness, and a thin off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt and citrus. Hoppy pine and citrus flavor on a strong, semi-sweet malt foundation, with a heavily bitter finish, and slight burn at the end. A solid IPA, and a very impressive offering from Mexico’s developing craft brewing industry.
