22oz bottle...Thin rather sweet earthy liquid that lacked any sort of BW complexity or mouthfeel. Not much in the way of Tequila type flavors either nor alcohol for that matter. Maybe they should have left it in the barrels longer...a lot longer.

22 oz. bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a liquid caramel color with a small off white head. The aroma is sweet caramel mixed with musty sweaty socks. The flavor again shows some sweet caramel with musty basement and cobwebs. This strange earthy notes don’t go well with anything. Very light tequila and barrel notes. This is a one time taste.

Bottle. Poured cloudy brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate earthy musty wood aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This beer did not meet my expectations.

22oz bottle shared with friends. Judging by how quickly they finished their glasses, they seemed to like it much more than I did. Thin khaki head, fading to minimal. Hazy dark cranberry color. Nice, interesting dark fruit aroma. Strong tequila-flavored sort of bitter finish. Good, sweet taste, bit of alcohol. Light carbonation. It’s unique. But not delicious.

Bottle with Steve and the Foco BA crew. Cloudy, dark red orange appearance with a cream colored head. Honey, spicy, tequila, toasty malty aroma. Spicy, sweet fruity, tangy, orange fruity, fairly strong tequila, honey flavor. Bleh.

So the tequila is present more in a feel in the mouth that is difficult to describe, it has a slickness, but not as much actual tequila flavor as we wanted.

Pours a mahogany color with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet at first with the dark fruits and caramel malts. Slight tequila notes with some oak as well. Flavor is similar with the dark fruits and caramel malts up front. Not as much tequila on the flavor but it does have some oak. Nice warming on the finish as well.

Pours a mahogany red with fair lacing. Aroma is dark fruit, licorice, and alcohol. Taste is complex with figs, molasses, soy sauce, and hard chocalate candy. Hints of lime and maybe agave on the backend. Surprisingly good.

Local Belmont bottle. Pours a much darker brown than expected but you pick up the ruby highlights when you hold it to the light. Foamy, slightly off-white head that settles into bubbles. Brown sugar, slight sweetness and a little spice dominate the aroma. I honestly find only a hint of the barrel or tequila in the aroma but its nice either way. You can definitely still find the base barley wine in the flavor. Overall the flavor is fairly muted with sweetness as the strongest taste. Pretty nice and glad it wasn’t over-the-top.

Pours an amber brown with an aroma of fruits and spice. The taste is unique and not really my preference it is a very strong and sweet taste with a hint of tequila. I thought the flavor was overly sweet and unbalanced. An interesting idea but it needs improvement.
