Cask at Edinburgh Beer festival 2008... Deep brown ... light roast ... quite thin ... light roast ... little smokey ... some woody.

On tap at the restaurant adjacent to the brewery. Reddish black with pale tan head. Malty base with mild chocolate and toffee notes. Slight fruitiness, very mild bitterness in the finish. A decent stout, though lacks distinction.

On the pub in Sligachan Hotel, Sligachan, Isle of Skye, Scotland, where Cuillin Brewery has it’s address. This cask ale is a black ale, and has an almost black color and no head. The aroma is like a beer that was poured yesterday, and the flavour is very thin, lightly sweet with sour notes of licorice. Not a beer worth drinking.
