M0RHI (988), Luxembourg, Luxembourg Nov 20, 2007 Cask, Alloa Beer Festival. Nose is medicinal with a balance of malt and hop, some fruitiness. Mouth is sweet maltiness, false orange. Tasted bad. cgarvieuk (2160), Edinburgh, Scotland Sep 17, 2007 Cask Blue Blazer ... Deep Copper ... light malt ... sweet malty and fruity ... nicly balanced ... over sparkled (typical blue blazer) little caramel toffee malt. Maria (3816), Thisted, Denmark Jan 4, 2007 Bottle at home. Dark amber with a moderate head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, fruit, apple. I find the same notes in the flavour, that also has notes of caramel. There is a brief acidity in the middle and a nice bitterness generally. It’s too apple-juice-like and too thin. albert_007 (409), Penobsquis, New Brunswick, Canada Jul 30, 2005 Cask, at the Sligachan Hotel, Isle of Skye. Yeasty aroma, pretty much drowned out everything else. Deep Amber color with nice lacing and a cascading head a-la Guinness. Yeasty taste, hop bitterness with a bit of malt sweetness hiddin in there. Served warm, but for some reason I liked it that way. Optimum drinking setting made for a high overalll score
