On tap at the pub. Pours a hazy orange color. The aroma is dominated by a cereal malt character, some faint grassy hops, and a bizarre and unappealing funkiness. The flavor is the same. It seems like it has something good going on, that is unfortunately tinged by a weird lurking nastiness. Full bodied with minimal carbonation. Overall: seems like something went wrong here. NOt horrible though.

Somehow this one got overlooked in the shuffle. A decent imperial IPA to celebrate ten years of being open it was a good change of pace in the heat. The resulting beer is not terrible. However in the grand scheme of big beers it falls a little flat. Regardless I think it is safe to say this is the best of the bunch from the state of Kentucky. Maybe some day Bluegrass Brewing will take lessons from Cumberland on how to brew predictable solid beer rather than erratically going from hot mess to gem.

Aroma / Appearance - Cloudy orange and hazy the body looked like glazing. Muddled white head looks like sea foam. Grapefruit, resin, and summery citrus refresh a weary palate on a hot summer day with no cloud cover.

Flavor / Palate - The theme continues in the first sip which is full of grapefruit and resin. Pine needles wrap up the Midwest hop bomb. Not quite as intense as a West Coast style it still packs a solid punch. Compared to some 10th anniversary releases it is a great way to celebrate. After all it takes some luck to hang around for ten years regardless of the product you put out.
