On tap at brewpub

The third of four beers this time I opted for a ten ounce pour. Given that this was just as drinkable as the previous two that was probably a good decision. Otherwise I would have had to go on a long walk down Bardstown Road to clear my head along with a meal at Za’s Pizza (worthy of stopping at if you have the time anyways).

Aroma / Appearance - The semitransparent reddish brown body didn’t have much activity that I could see. The nose was as unique as anything else that I can recall in the last few months. Caramelized onions, brown sugar, wheat, and malt made me think somewhat of a dunkel.

Flavor / Palate - Caramel chews that have been soaked in something hoppy create a great introduction. Apple butter comes next before a light bitter finish. Smooth from start to finish this is a nice example to set for other wheats ales. Despite the warm temperatures outside it still feels like something perfect for a fall afternoon.
