My second beer was a blend of Towhead with a tripel. Having recently had the Towhead at the Great Taste I was looking forward to a second experience. This revealed similarities; the other base beer seems to be less dominant. If you are in the area before it gets tapped out make sure you order one.
Aroma / Appearance - The cloudy orange body was fluid with a flat lifeless head. Glazed carrots, cotton candy, peaches, canned oranges, and honey form the basis of this beer along with lemony aspects. Everything comes together nicely.
Flavor / Palate - Smooth wheaty characteristics start the proceedings. Next comes cotton candy, peaches, orange, and other fruity notes. A yeasty finish gives it a Belgian kick. The dry aftertaste wraps up what is a top notch beer. This is another one that I could drink several of given enough time; even after two or three I don’t think it would be old.
