stravale (2052) - Near Carrick-on-Shannon, IRELAND - JUN 14, 2014
Bottle from Bottle Stop, Enniskillen [140614]
Golden, clear, frothy white head, slight lacing
Aroma of slight soft fruits, some damp hay, little on nose, not great
Taste of some grassy hop, soft hay, soft dull zest hop, pale caramel malts, fairly simple, not that hoppy
Palate - soft carb, medium body, quite oily, soft bitter sweet. Finish as main flavour, soft bitter zest - bit more zest comes thorough in the finish, cleans off palate
Overall - Average standard Golden Ale...not too bad

Cask in the Bishop Langley, Durham. Golden ale with a creamy white head. A sweetish start before a more bitter, slightly soapy finish. No flavours particularly stand out. Pretty average.

UPDATED: FEB 25, 2014 Pint at the Schooner Gateshead. Bright gold with a thin white head. Straw and honey aroma. Citrus and honey flavour. Could do with being a bit sharper. Pleasant enough, but it just sort of peters out. Light bodied, not much in the finish. 25/02/2014: !/2 at the Tilly Stone Gateshead. Don’t know if it’s been tweaked. Definitely sharper, and with some blueberry flavour. Still a fairly standard Blond ale, but about 2 points better overall.

DruncanVeasey (7112) - NUNEATON, Top 13, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - FEB 20, 2013
Cask handpull, The Furness Railway, Barrow, Cumbria, 16/02/13. Grass, lime and honey aroma. Clean grass and orange peel hop with a lingering honey and breadstick sweetness; soapy bitterness for dessert. Decent, grassy GA leaning towards lager territory. Soft condition; bright gold lining glass with white.

Cask conditioned at The Strawberry Garden, Fleetwood, Lancs. Gold with white head. Malty, light grainy beer, fairly thin on the palate, not too much depth, a lager cross over type beer. Interesting chat with Syd Little while drinking this though.
