Tmoney99 (4661), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Aug 23, 2009 Draft at brewpub.
Poured clear brown color with an average fizzy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate earthy hop and toasted malt aroma. Medium body with a dry texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration.
Good brew for style. 502Flavors (617), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Jul 18, 2008 On tap at brew house. Honey brown pour with orange hue and no head (thats how Cumberland pours em’). Aroma consists of mostly light pine and citrus hops. Flavor is mostly bitter pine hops with a long resinous finish. Medium bodied and biting on the palate. Overall: nice local session brew. wheninhell (485), louisville, Kentucky, USA May 8, 2007 Good old Mr. Bitters......this rating is from a previous batch...a month or so ago...i just tried the new batch today.......not quite as good......but anyway on to the one i took notes on. slightly hazy orange with a lasting white head. good lacing. light juicy orange aroma.....very nice almost 2 heartedish. sweet juicy orange flavor with bitter piney nutty notes. bitter nutty finish. medium body. lively carbonation. nice. smoosh (523), New Albany, Indiana, USA Jan 3, 2006 Draft - very nice golden color and a white, white head. Grassy, earthy British hops. The flavor was far more bitter than expected! Hops continue to attack the sides of the tongue between swallows. A slightly fizzy mouthfeel. This is a delicious session beer! If not for the opportunity to rate other beers I would have stuck with this one through the night. SledgeJr (2957), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Dec 10, 2005 On tap at the brewpub. Matt the brewer now calls this "Mr. Bitters." Cloudy yellow in color. Has a grapefruit aroma. Mild, yet clearly present hops. This is a great session beer due to the mid range alcohol and smoothness. Matt says that it usually ranges from 4.8-5.2 ABV. He uses Northern Brewer’s and Goldings hops. novedyarg (56), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Jun 16, 2005 A light golden colored body with a tiny head. The aroma was of tangy hops and a light hint of yeastiness. A hoppy beginning with a transition into a slight malty finish. Slight citrus tang to the body as well. A good summer beer. TheBeerOrg (1563), Kentucky, USA Jun 16, 2005 Updated: Aug 10, 2005Golden with small head. Spicy hop aroma. Tasty but fairly one-dimensional. Not well rounded enough to order several of these. Flowery, citrusy finish from significant hopping.
