Really dark and smooth, this one goes down very easy. Little head and tastes like coffee.

Tap (growler). Dark chocolate malt aroma with hint of ash. Dark brown color with minimal head. Mildly sweet chocolate malt flavor with a moderately bitter herbal hops finish. Tasty.

Dark brown with garnet highlights and a creamy tan head. Nutty chocolate aroma and a syrupy chocolate and coffee taste with a sweet malty finish.

On tap in an English pint. Pours black with a cream-colored head. Aroma of the chocolate and smokiness of the porter. Light texture like a Guinness, and the flavor is good but not overpowering. A pretty good beer, but porters aren’t really my style and it’s sort of light for me.

UPDATED: SEP 27, 2010 Nice dark color, cream color head. Rich chocolate taste but it doesn’t overpower. The flavor does not linger. Some beers leave a bitter after taste but not this one.

On nitro tap at Cock & Bull.
A nice, well rounded, porter served on a nitro tap. Not a ton of aroma or flavor, but does contains hints of roasted malt. Some burnt flavors stick out as well. Smooth palate and easy to drink.

Roasted malts, with notes of dark chocolate and a bit of metallic flavor. Mouth feel is creamy and smooth. The tasted is straight roasted malts with a tiny bit of coffee. Pretty good, but nothing special.

joeneugs (3120) - Livermore, California, USA - MAR 9, 2009
Very dark brown with a thick, creamy head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, and licorice. Taste is heavy bodied with a toasted quality with chocolate, licorice, and some minor acidic coffee like bitterness. A very satisfying porter.

LarvalChemist (29) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - FEB 3, 2009
Poured from the tap. Dark tan, nitro head with good retention. Moderate lacing on the glass. Aroma is chocolate with a touch of hops. Taste is dominated by coffee and chocolate. A hint of burnt or roasted flavor to the beer. Finally a short but clean finish.
