Sample at Cumberland on 9/14/13. Darkest brown pour with a thick tan nitro head. Aroma of malt, cream, chocolate and vanilla. Malty and chocolatey flavor with some vanilla sweetness before a bitter, roasty finish.

Tap and Nitro poured of course: A deep brown hue almost black with a large nitro produced tan head and good lace. The nose detected notes of walnut, chocolate and black malts, and some grassy hops. The taste is a straight forward easy going malt based porter with light acidic and fruit notes. The finish has some minor bitterness and hints of bready yeast. The feel is thin and lively, smooth and easy to drink. A good brew all things said.

Draft on Bardstown Rd. Black brown, steady light beige head. Chocolate, creamy mellow non carbobation. UK mouthfeel. Malty , very nice addition to and brewpub menu. Roasty mild sweet coffee notes. Pretty cool offering.

A thick, black beer. Aroma has some smoke. Flavor has a touch of smoke, as well as light coffee and chocolate. But overall the flavors and aromas are far too light.

Dark brown with garnet highlights and a creamy tan head. Nutty chocolate aroma and a syrupy chocolate and coffee taste with a sweet malty finish.

joeneugs (5486) - Livermore, California, USA - MAR 9, 2009
Very dark brown with a thick, creamy head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, and licorice. Taste is heavy bodied with a toasted quality with chocolate, licorice, and some minor acidic coffee like bitterness. A very satisfying porter.
