502Flavors (54), Kentucky, USA Mar 15, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. It is nice and dark for a pale ale; it appears a non-hazy darker amber/oak color with slight carbonation and a descent off-white head. It smells of pine cones (lots of piney hops) with touches of grapefruit. - I didn’t detect many floral or citrus hop aromas. Medium bodied with a hoppy bite on the pale. The flavor is all hops, not many malts, but still somewhat balanced. It is nice and strong, but pretty basic. Overall: this beer is worth trying if at Cumberland brewpub because it is one of their better beers. It was much better than i remembered it being. General_Gao (2224), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Nov 5, 2007 Draft at the brewpub. Poured a clear dark orange color. Head was off white and left some decent lace behind. Pleasant aroma of malty caramel and light flowery hops. Dry on the tongue with moderate hop bitterness of about 6 out of 10. Tasted of malty caramel, toffee, and flowery hops. Good beer. africakevin (3), USA does not count Aug 1, 2007 HELLO!!!! I ordered a Pale Ale, not a Pilsner. I am a hop head and this just didn’t cut it. Tasted much more like a pilsner than a pale. Need to work on that one a bit. ultraspank (853), Dublin, Ohio, USA Jul 22, 2007 Thanks to Bob, Michelle, and mostly my baby Jana for the 12th annual Indiana Microbrewers Festival today! On tap @ the fest. Nose of caramel, resin, and flowers. The brew is a copper amber. The nice cascade resolves into a mostly diminishing creamy off-white head that leaves light lace. The beer has a strong spice & citrus presence with noticable acidity and a long bitter finish. The medium body is lively & dry. NachlamSie (1256), Tennessee, USA May 4, 2007 Draught during my Dark Lord excursion. Pours hazy amber with a small white head. The aroma is floral, clean and lightly earthy with hints of black tea. This is quite flavorful for the style. There’s a decent citrus presence, taragon, light jerky notes, drying oak, and a tart finish. Just semi-sweet all around. This is well balanced and easily one of my favorite interpretations of this style.
