BBB63 (3681), La Porte, Indiana, USA Aug 26, 2005 Tap: Pours a deep amber hue with reddish highlights topped by a small frothy head and some lace. The aroma has notes of spicy and light piney hops, apple, bready and pale malting, and a bit of earthy yeast esters. The taste has more of a grassy hop character at the beginning and spicer on the finish supported by a bready and grainy malt character. Some acidic undertone as well. The feel is crisp and refreshing, what you expect in a English styled Pale Ale. (this could be very nice cask conditioned). I enjoy the brew enough the have a second glass. Braudog (3461), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Aug 12, 2002 I’m generally a wussy lager drinker, but this is a heck of an ale ... superior color and hoppy character. Seek out this excellent brew pub in Louisville. Tmoney99 (3429), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Sep 11, 2005 Draft sampler at Cumberland. Dark amber with moderate white head that diminished very slowly and had good lacing. Full hoppy aroma. Medium body. Full hoppy flavor with very good bitter finish. Very enjoyable ale. Sledge Jr (2693), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Dec 10, 2005 On tap at the brewpub. Medium amber in color with good lacing. Has a buttery smell, but not flavor. Sweet and hoppy with grapefruit pine-like flavor. Very parallel if not slightly superior to SN pale ale. General_Gao (2368), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Nov 5, 2007 Draft at the brewpub. Poured a clear dark orange color. Head was off white and left some decent lace behind. Pleasant aroma of malty caramel and light flowery hops. Dry on the tongue with moderate hop bitterness of about 6 out of 10. Tasted of malty caramel, toffee, and flowery hops. Good beer.
