COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Available in 330ml bottles.
This balanced but powerfully hoppy India Pale Ale is brewed using the finest pale ale malt and three complimentary hops. We use Goldings - the traditional, fresh, sweet, delicate king of English hops. Then we add Bramling Cross, a spicy blackcurranty beauty and finish with a touch of extremely clean fresh Citra hop, for quenching zestines. We think that in balancing these 3 exciting hops we have created a beer of great power yet drinkable harmony.

330ml bottle at Little Dudley House, Dorking. This is a strange one. Doesn’t look or taste like a usual IPA but i thought it was great. Only beer I’ve given a 5 for appearance. Really nice amber and ever so slightly cloudy. No head or lacing. Taste was of clean hops and a nice full after taste of fresh bread.

Clear amber, malty aroma. Very full bodied, cereals, sweet malt, flowery hops, dust. Spicy - ginger and pepper. Bitter tail.

On tap at Jamie’s Italian, Islington, London on 12th January 2013. Amber-gold with lasting white head and lacing. Richly sweet and fruity aroma. Plenty of floral hops in-mouth with some grass and sweet citrus late. Finish remains fruity, but gains maltiness. Zingy mouthfeel.

Bottle. Golden with white head. Slightly spicy floral and citrus aroma with a pleasant earthiness. Taste is balanced with caramel, citrus, peppery earthiness. Medium body, crisp with a clean finish. A good well rounded beer, probabaly tje best use of english hops in an ipa I’ve tasted

Bottle. Dark amber with a solid head and aroma of delicious citrus hops. Flavour has a strong Citra note and balancing malt. Some hop bitterness in the aftertaste. Finish s a bit soupy with the hop and malt mix.

Bottle 330ml (and marked down cuz of the cheap arse rip off idiots not selling it in a 500ml bottle). Aroma is of citrus hops, a fair bit of marmalade in thre, spiced oranges too. Appearance it pours with a thin white head thats not worth the effort over a slightly cloudy orange body. Taste is a citrusy spicy bitterness, giving way to an orange flavour. Almost like a marmalade in reverse! It leaves the palate with a bitter finish thats rewarded by another sip. Not a bad beer- shame about the rip off tactics of serving it in a 330ml bottle tho

Cold bottle. Brassy orange brown colour, no head. Not much going on in the smell. Taste is quite unusual - metallic in a good way, some caramel and slightly smokey/earthy, a bit watery.

Well balanced is the main point of this beer. The balance between the sweet The Aroma of English Goldings, the bittering Brambling Cross, and the citrus flavours of ...Citra of course! With a pleasant malt finish this is not explosively hoppy but there are enough IBU’s to keep me interested. Besides a single hopped very high IBU beer can be a one trick pony. A well balanced flavoursome yet delicate beer such as this can be infinitely more difficult to brew well. Bottle from Cotteridge Wines

essexcalf (170) - Essex, ENGLAND - JUL 31, 2012
Bottle. Pours thin head, quickly diminishing to almost nothing. Amber. Light carbonation. Aroma - Lovely, sweet, citrussy, fruity (satsuma/mandarin, bit candy sweet) hops, some spiciness, caramel malt. Fairly sweet, with a one-dimensional pale malt backbone (that tastes a bit too sweet for an IPA and a bit unusual), but some very nice, prominent hops. Strong, sweet citrus flavours; mandarin, bit spicy, but little bitterness in the body. Slight bitter twang on finish, but not lasting for long. Soft, light body, despite the sweetness. Thinking this could do with a tad more bittering, but nice hop flavours.
