COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Available in 330ml bottles.
This balanced but powerfully hoppy India Pale Ale is brewed using the finest pale ale malt and three complimentary hops. We use Goldings - the traditional, fresh, sweet, delicate king of English hops. Then we add Bramling Cross, a spicy blackcurranty beauty and finish with a touch of extremely clean fresh Citra hop, for quenching zestines. We think that in balancing these 3 exciting hops we have created a beer of great power yet drinkable harmony.

33 cl bottle, Sheffield, UK via Waitrose. Pale amber appearance, active carbonation. Slightly bubblegum laced citrus aroma. Lighter bodied than expected, some celery comes through, with a bright resin finish.

330ml bottle pours a golden orange color with a finger of white head that leaves a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is citrus with hints of spice and other fruits. Taste is a malty sweetness up front with a pleasing citrus hop bitterness in the finish. Quite a tasty and easy drinking IPA which would make a good session ale.

I think that in balancing these 3 exciting hops you have created a beer of some power and drinkable harmony. Balance is much easier when it’s not thaaaaaat hoppy. Ya dig?

Citrousy, straw, good, not a favourite, but it is enjoyable. I would have it again, but I wouldn't go seek it out. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPad

Bottle. Clear amber, frothy head. Fruityish caramel, some toffee. A bit boring, actually, did not make me curious at all.

Clear Amber pour, thin white head. Hoppy, brioche bread aroma. Flavour is bitterness, with some sweet malt. Very light body. Medium soft carbonation. Ok. Touch of sourness in the finish.

Bottle from Chapel Down vineyard shop. Colour is nice orange, very clear. Nose is touch of citrous and caramel malt. Taste is a bit of a non-event. There’s some bitterness from the hops but nowhere near enough for an IPA. The malt, whilst a little bit of caramel is there, it’s also a bit too grainy and light bodied, like a lager. Finish is crisp like a lager. Where’s the hops man?

Bottle, from Waitrose in Lincoln. Gold, shortlived white head and fine condition. Muted hop resin and fruit in the nose, soft and sweet in the mouth with a subdued hop bitterness and a faint suggestion of chocolate, short chalky bitter finish with hop resin lingering briefly.

Spicy nose with some nutmeg and a hint of citrus. Pours a medium amber with no head. Flavour is fresh with some blackcurrant notes but not as balanced as the label promises. All told ok, but nothing special.
