COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Available in 330ml bottles (bottle conditioned)
Previously known as Curious Brew Admiral Porter, from which the current version differs only by the inclusion of a small amoiunt of Goldings hops together with the Admiral.
This Porter has been brewed using crystal, chocolate, black and amber malts from floor malted Sussex barley. The bittering hop is Sussex grown Admiral with a small amount of Golding late hops. Matured with oak to give a delicate balance of sweetness and bitterness, this beer is bottle conditioned and unpasturised to preserve the extraordinary flavours. Contains barley malts.

Muddy brown color with small head. Aroma of roasted malt, wood and some coffee. Woody, roasted malty, dry flavor and a bit chocolaty. Decent.

Dark beer, classic porter taste, coffee, bitter taste, not what I was after on a sunny day but I was "curious" as it was a local beer. Bottle at murcatto wines Cranbrook.

Dark brown body, light brown head. The head is long-lived and ends up as a fully lasting, thin layer. Strong aroma with notes of dark roasted coffee, almost burnt, with dry ashy notes and hints of smoke. In the strong flavours I also get dark fruits and berries. Light to moderate sweet taste with a long, moderate bitter finish. Medium body, dry texture, soft carbonation. Very dark roasted for the style, but nonetheless a delicious brew.

Bottle. Dark amber brown. Brown bread, bitter chocolate, light coffee. On the thin side. More like a brown ale than a porter. These Curious beers have been curiously lacking.

330 ml bottle. Lovely, clear, dark amber body with a nice beige head. Quite light, but nice aroma of roasted malt, dark fruit and some chocolate. Flavor is mild, dark roasted malt, dark fruit, light coffee and chocolate, liquorice and moderate bitterness. Medium body and moderate aftertaste of roasted malt and liquorice. Pleasant and easy to drink, but nothing extraordinary.

33cl Bottle bought from Waitrose, York, 7th September 2013. Used a shaker. Clear, sparkling, deep red. Dense, foamy, tan-coloured head. Bitter coffee and slightly sharp hoppy aroma. Predominantly bitter taste. Very watery mouth feel. Fairly astringent, dry finish, lasting bitterness. No fruit, hardly an chocolate, disappointing palate and lacking darkness, depth and opacity in appearance. Coffee aside, not what I expected from a porter.

Craft Clerkenwell. Martin T tasting. Clear deep amber - brown beer. Big pale cream coloured head. Light dry palate. Sweetish malt, whisper of dark chocolate. Little paper. Insipid dry finish. Meh!

Bottle at the Martin T tasting, CBC, 06/06/13 - thanks to whoever brought this along. Mahogony brown with a thin light beige head. Nose is roast malt, dark fruits, toffee, biscuit. Taste is a little weak, light roast, malt, biscuit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light roast in a dryish finish. Pretty boring porter.

Bottle shared with Jack at The Kernel - London. Pours clear brown with a creamy tan cap. Sugary brown bread nose. Medium sweet flavor, faint ashy roast, brown bread, dry earth. Light to medium bodied with fine, smooth carbonation. Dry finish, slightly ashy, with dry toast, light earthy bitterness, dried and toasted sugars. OK.
