2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz. Odd beer given my experience with the Balkan and European trends with these beers. Higher alcohol, slightly less sweetness.. this seems to be in the market for alcopops like Smirnoff Ice, etc. It tastes some of real beer, and some of real chemical lemon. It is sweet but not unpleasant. It is just a fruity medium bodied beer and I don’t know what that is about. I would, somehow to say, prefer the lower alc ones in E Europe, they make a little more sense as relaxing summer beverages.

Bottle gift from SJ. I wasn’t crazy about this. Notes of ginger, lemon and some other spice. Body was thin, I didn’t think it was well-balanced.

Tap at Hunan #1. Thanks to the rep team. Cloudy yellow pour. Weaker white head. Nose is mild sweet lemon dessert. Taste is very cloying, medicinal, sticky. Not enjoyable. None of my semi beer nerd friends enjoyed. I don’t think this is a style to make "happen" for the summer.

Curious Traveler Shandy has a thick, white head and a very milky, opaque beige-yellow-golden appearance, with lots of streaming bubbles and some lacing left behind. The aroma is of a strong lemon-lime smell, with a background of white bread. Taste is the same, with lots of sugary sweetness and tartness. Mouthfeel is medium, and Curious Traveler Shandy finishes tart, sour, sweet, and refreshing. Overall, this is a very good fruit beer, and I think it’s worth checking out. RJT

On tap @ Caffrey's NJ. Pours a cloudy yellow color with one finger of white head. Aroma is all citrus (mostly lemon). Tastes like lemonade, with some citrus and floral hops, and fruity malts.

Tampa, Fl - Total Wine - 12 oz bottle. Pours a murky dark golden with a sticky frothy white head. light lacing. Aroma has some Lemonheads candy aroma, pleasant but artificial. Flavor is along the same lines as the aroma with plenty of tart lemon candy sweetness with a touch of sour to balance it out. Some yeasty notes round it out in the back end. Mouthfeel is slightly pasty. Refreshing to say the least.

On tap. Cloudy yellow pour with a thin fizzy head. Aroma of artificial lemon and not much else. Taste is really mild, mostly lemon with a little malt. Refreshing, but not a beer by any stretch of the imagination.
