Driven by wanderlust and a desire for discovery, the Curious Traveler™ set out to explore the globe. Always fearlessly inquisitive, he relished opportunities to befriend other travelers and to experience cultures he had only previously imagined. He sampled their wares, their foods and most importantly their libations. Some were good. Some not so good. Others were downright dangerous. Many years into his travels, his pace slowed on a particularly sweltering day. He sought refuge in a small pub to escape the oppressive heat. Before he could even finish wiping his brow, the bartender handed him a glistening glass of ale. The Traveler took a liking to the invigorating lemon shandy concoction. “Quite a refresher!” he said gratefully. The Traveler has never stopped exploring – in fact, he’s on the road this very day. Somewhere. Only one thing has changed: he now makes sure he orders a shandy everywhere he goes.

On tap. Cloudy yellow pour with a thin fizzy head. Aroma of artificial lemon and not much else. Taste is really mild, mostly lemon with a little malt. Refreshing, but not a beer by any stretch of the imagination.

Bottle. Poured a cloudy straw color with full head. Lots of lemon aroma, lemon juice. Medium sweetness. Average carbonation. Ends sort of dry. Taste is lemon, honey, wheat, mild candy. Unique. Worth another try sometime.

Bottle. Pours a rather murky looking orange body with a small fizzy white head. Looks a bit more like juice than it does a beer. The nose is pretty interesting, it smells like a mix of lemon lime soda, lemonade, and a Hefeweizen. The flavor is not nearly as pleasant as the aroma though. It tastes like poor quality fruit juice up front, rather thin and watery, then fades to a Pale Lager like finish. Light bodied and fizzy with prickly carbonation. This tastes like a carbonated fruit beverage, or something they would serve at an Orange Julius. Methinks the non beer drinking ladies would like this, but I can’t see it performing real well here on RateBeer. I guess these Shandy’s have their place in the world, but it must be exclusive to 100 degree days.

Not a style I'm really familiar with, but not bad from my past experience. Hazy bright yellow pour with a small white head. Lemon lime nose. Light carbonated mouthfeel. Taste is a refreshing lemon, kinda sweet lemon ludent aftertaste . Good summer brew. -Fish!

Draft at Shakers as part of our Mineola bar crawl, January 2013. Pours a bright tangerine body with thick haze and reasonably creamy white head. Aroma is overly sweetened lemons, wheat, juice and light yeast. Mouthfeel is medium, somewhat creamy with similar notes - but way, way too sweet. If you’re looking for a shandy, grab a Leinie instead.

Pours golden and very cloudy. Light head that doesnt last long, little lacing. Pleasant citrus aroma, very orangy, candyish. Little in the way of carbonation. Lemony orange taste hits you right away. Although citrus is very pronounced it’s not overbearing; a bit sweet. Short finish. Nice beer to cool off with on a hot summer day. Probably won’t buy again but may recommend.
