Driven by wanderlust and a desire for discovery, the Curious Traveler™ set out to explore the globe. Always fearlessly inquisitive, he relished opportunities to befriend other travelers and to experience cultures he had only previously imagined. He sampled their wares, their foods and most importantly their libations. Some were good. Some not so good. Others were downright dangerous. Many years into his travels, his pace slowed on a particularly sweltering day. He sought refuge in a small pub to escape the oppressive heat. Before he could even finish wiping his brow, the bartender handed him a glistening glass of ale. The Traveler took a liking to the invigorating lemon shandy concoction. “Quite a refresher!” he said gratefully. The Traveler has never stopped exploring – in fact, he’s on the road this very day. Somewhere. Only one thing has changed: he now makes sure he orders a shandy everywhere he goes.

Bottle. Pours hazy yellow with white head. Aroma is lemonade, sweet citrus. Taste is very lemonadey, light bodied, medium carbonation, sweet. Overall, bad.

Having tried virtually every beer I could get my hands on, I took some time away from beer to indulge in Jack Daniels. Coming back again to beer I found many a brew difficult to palate and few that I actually liked as I proceeded slowly through some new brews. I Received a Curious Traveler as part of a beer gift basket and have to say that I was pleasantly surprised that this beer was very refreshing with a lemon zest flavor. The aroma barely hinted to the lemon inside. I probably would not buy this beer by the case but would not mind an occasional 6-pack in the fridge every once in awhile.

Ignore the beer snobs who give this beer a low rating. This is a good damn beer. Full of flavor, not overbearing. One of the few that go good with practically any meal, too.

Rating this relative to other Shandy’s. Nice citrus flavor but not the sugary, sticky after taste on the palate, which I am glad isn’t present. For this reason, I prefer this beer over Shock Top Lemon Shandy.

Bottle. Nose is lemon; nice and pungent, without any candied overtone. Pours a relatively unremarkable flat brown-gold with very little head. On the tongue, it’s lemon, wheat, and a nice pithy bitterness; it’s more impressive as to what it’s not. It’s not candied, it’s not saccharine, it’s not gross. It’s refreshing and tasty. It won’t solve the world’s problems, but it’s a good shandy.

Draft @ GAT Beer, NE Philadelphia. Poured hazy golden color with a small, thin white head. Aroma of lemon with a touch of yeast. Body was light, with a brief finish. Lemonade-like flavor, with a touch of a biscuit note beneath.

Bottle sampled at a beer share -- This reminds me so very much of what I remember Mikes Hard Lemonade tasting like.

Pour on tap, clear golden pour with white head, aroma brought notes of lemonade, sugar, some slight white fruit, touch of yeast and bready notes. Taste is a mix of lemon, lemonade, sugary lemon candies into a bit of yeast, bread, finishing fairly sweet.

Bottle poured a clear gold with a small lingering white head. Aromas of lemon candy and light bread. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of bread and lemon candy withg a smooth lingering lemon finish.
