Loved it. One of my favorite beers of all time. Very, very sweet with a fair amount of malt. No hops whatsoever. Light roast. A tad chocolatey.

Excellent beer if you like a sweeter beer. Dark body, medium roasted flavor, smooth taste and pallate. I definitely recommend it.

This looks and is much better than the regular cusquena. Very chocolaty and thick, but with hints of caffienation. A good brew, reminiscent of double bocks.

Pours deep dark garnet with one minute of mocha head. I can already smell a little sweet malt and caramel before attempting to get my nose near the glass. Yep, the aroma is sweet malts, sweet caramel and dark fruity esters to go along with lighter notes of moderately roasted malts, fainter still a note of earthiness that moves toward a touch of tobacco. The taste starts the same as the aroma with a bolt of sweetness buoyed up by above average carbonation and carrying along notes of dark grapes, figs, sugar sweet malts and caramel. The sweetness doesn’t let up as the dark fruity esters grow in depth and character and the brief roasted malts, caramel and earthiness rise up and then fall away. Tasty brew leaving lingering dark fruitiness, caramel and just a hint of earthiness deep into the after taste.

Bottle while dining at Mochica Restaurant in San Francisco. Chestnut brown with and almond coloured foamy head. Rich roasted malt aroma, strong notes of both chocolate and coffee. Heavier mouthfeel, almost thick due to the very sweet palate profile, all malt, malt, malt with some soft stonefruit in the finish. While drinkning this I thought it was excellent, under the impression that it was a terrific example of a sweet foreign stout. If you tuck into this thinking that you’re getting a dark lager or schwarzbier, then you are bound to be disappointed. This is NOT a schwarzbier!

Bottle. Dark brown, opaque with a small tan head that lingers and leaves some lacing. Dark malty roasty aroma, some grass and coffee with hints of prune. Flavor is wow, sweet, sweet, sweet - dopplebockish - dark fruits and toast. Dessert like and one dimensional. Full body and fairly flat character with mild carbonation.

Pours a four-fingered light tan head that quickly fades leaving no lace. Deep amber almost black color. Light-medium bodied and light carbonation. Sweet chocolate nose. Starts sweet, quiet hops in background, finish is sweet. Mouthfeel is watery at times. Sweetest stout I have had. 12 oz bottle, gift bought from Vintage Cellar Blacksburg, Va. Bottle at a buffet lunch in Yucay, Peru. Nice malty aroma. Sweet flavor not disimilar to Baltika 6. Quite carbonated. Not bad.

Bottle. Dark brown to black in color with a small tan head. Nose is lightly roasted with lots of burnt caramel and sweet malts. Taste is surprisingly good! Slightly burnt caramel, sweet roasty malts, light choco notes and some light pumpernickel notes. My bottle was sweet but not nearly as cloying as some others have noted. Body is light-medium and creamy with some carbonation tingle around the edges. Finishes with more roasty malts, caramel, and light choco notes. A bit one dimensional but a nice diamond in the rough from Peru!
