Bottled 330ml. -from Bier Imperium, Vienna. Black coloured, medium sized beige head, mild notes of chocolate in the nose. Slight roasted malt, brown sugar and milk chocolate with notes of licorice. Heavy sweetness in the finish but drinkable.

Bottle at a buffet lunch in Yucay, Peru. Nice malty aroma. Sweet flavor not disimilar to Baltika 6. Quite carbonated. Not bad.

Pours a blackish-brown color with burgundy hues and a medium tan head that diminishes quickly but laces well. Aroma of malty grains some tobacco and earthy notes. Pretty good and better than expected. Taste is sweet and feels a little artificial. I don’t get that much roastiness but more the sweetness of the wort and hints of some cheap coffee and molasses. It is really more intense than the Chilean and Argentinian examples of industrial Schwarzbiers but that’s not saying much. Medium body and lively carbonation. Finish reminds me of coca-cola with a very sugary aftertaste. Decent.

Brown twist top 33cl bottle, best before early Jul 09, drank late Jun 09. Obtained from a local cut-price store, very suprised to see it. Really dark brown, no ruby hints, this is a brown beer, a deep rich brown. The initial tan coloured foaming head soon turned into a collar and becoming more wispy as the review progressed. Malty, slightly smoked, vimto aroma, sweet smell to be honest. The taste mirrored the smell, a sweet, sweet, brew. I found it too sickly, it hadn’t the body to carry the sweetness. The alcohol was well hidden, but it just didn’t feel right for me.

Sampled in Cuzco. By far my favorite Peruvian brew. Had a really nice malt palate. Served ice cold.

Bottle 33 cl from Bier-Bienne (CH). Dark brown with short fleeting head. Scents of roasted malt, toffy, mocha, cola. The taste is very malted, roasted and rich, creamy, typical roundness of tropical black beer. Hints of toffy, a little licorice, slight mocha, cola, kahlua and dry prunes. Nutricious beer, note of dutch Oud Bruin but not of Schwarzbier.

Vacker coca-cola brun öl med ljusbrunt skum. Doften är riktigt söt, men i smaken tar sötman över helt. Kvalmigt, kväljande söt.

The only dark lager that can be found in Ecuador. It has a very nice appearance, coffee, roasted, jus a little aftertaste. It is ok for a commercial southamerican dark lager

A fairly sweet dark beer. The malt has a heavy caramelized taste. Carbonation is a bit weird, and some alcohol in the aftertaste.

[Bottle] Had a bottle of this at a Peruvian restaurant. Pours a clear brown color with a quickly receding off-white head. Nose is of caramel malts, toffee, light cocoa and dusty grains. The taste is similar with mild caramel, sweet breads, hazelnut and very light coffee flavors. Dry and earthy hoppiness throughout the finish. Light in body. Not too bad, but nothing great either.
