Cusqueña is a super-premium lager from Cuzco, the seat of the Inca empire. Brewed since 1911, it uses only the finest natural ingredients, including pure mountain water from a source at 18,000 feet in the Peruvian Andes.

Bottle from Internacional mercado: Aroma smells awful and smells sort of fruity as if this was apple cider instead of beer. The beer taste just as awful and taste just like a malt drink but with a much flatter carbonation level. It must be old or wasn’t properly bottled because the oxidization has occurred. What a waste of money. I don’t believe I have ever rated a beer so low in scores in my history of my 10 + years as a Ratebeer member despite not being the worst thing I have tasted.

This beer seems to be the flagship beer in peru, it is basically avail anywhere, restaurants, shops. hotels you name it. So basically it was my go to drink for my vacation....after a bad episode of Pisco Sour resulted in Salamenolla poisioning from the raw eggs....note with beer you will not get this, stick with beer and you will always be good! Anyway, this is s a mediocre beer but it is beer and in Peru this does the job.

Bottle at Supper. (my first one from Peru) Clear golden with a small white head. Thin with butter, bread and something "sour". Really boring. It’s a tick.

Pours a a clear golden color with a quickly dissipating cream colored head. The smell is grain, rich malt, a hint of caramel. The taste is very sweet malt, caramel, diluted molasses ending a bit dry. Medium body and the carbonation is a bit course. This isn’t much fun to drink as it is very sweet and malty without much in the way of interesting taste.

One of the better peruvian beers. Tastes great in Peru, but I bought it from the supermarket and thought it was just an average lager.
