Probably the best of Peru’s pale lagers, it’s got a slight grainy nose, a cool bottle too, with the incan stonework and such. So there’s that.

Cimbasso (192) - - NOV 23, 2014
Sampled from a 62cl bottle. A golden colour with a slightly red tinge. Whitish head. The has malty aromas and a creamy malt taste. Surprisingly full tasting, but not much bitterness. Slightly sweet, toffee-like taste and very light hop flavour. Not dreadful, but not particularly great. I like the Inca wall depicted in the glass of the bottle.

Bottle in Peru. Smell doesn't have much, maybe some light grain. Taste is so light, watery even. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a thin head on a straw body. The aroma is mild grain. The taste is grainy with mild bitterness. The texture is crisp with a bit more body than expected. The flavor isn’t too bad. Great with Peruvian food.

My mom brought this one back from a trip to Peru. +++ sampled from a 330 ml brown bottle this beer poured a dark golden color with a small foamy white head that faded and left minimal lacing. The aroma was malty, sweet, tangy, corny and had a bit of citrus. The flavor was sweet and tangy sugar, corn, a bit of yeast, citrus and a hint of sour mash. Medium length finish. Medium body. Basic macro lager style.

Pours dark golden with a white head. Aroma is sugar and a hint of grain. Taste is kind of sweet. No hops. Some grain. Not terrible. Better than Cristal, probably.

330ml twist off bottle served in a Weizen glass. A: Pours a clear golden yellow color forming a small fizzy bubbled white head. Low retention and only few lacings left S: Sweet malts, adjunct malts (mainly corn), Lager yeasts and some almost imperceptible notes of hops in the end T: As the nose. Sweet upfront. Sweet caramel malts, adjunct malts, bready Lager yeasts, very ligh bitterness in the end. In overall a slightly sweet beer with a strange faint hoppy bitterness M: Very light and watery body and medium to low carbonation. Aftertaste is a bit annoying, a mix of cardboard and weird bitterness (I’m asking myself what type of hops do they used here...) O: Average drinkability. A bit annoying, actually. A beer that I won’t try again... [ BA Review @ 9/25/2012 ]
