Gravity at Reading Beer Fest, with Kook, Duff, Chris_o and Joeh. Some hop in the initial mouthful, which becomes a little uncontrolled in it’s plastic sourness. Generally however, I do like this.

Cask@Reading BF. Some caramel at the start, sweetish to start. Some nice hops in the finish. Got subtle hints of kiwi fruit and grapefruit. I thought this was quite pleasant.

Difficult to know what to make of this one. It’s quite dark brown in colour but the style hovers between mild, bitter and porter. Perhaps its simply a bitter with added caramel. Quite dry. medium bodied. No real standout features, but nothing to grumble about either. I tried all four of the beers from Custom Ales and, whilst this one was possibly the least impressive, they were all solid efforts, which is good going for a new brewery. Cask (gravity dispense), Reading Beer Festival 2005.

Dark in colour. Bland caramel taste, sweet but balanced. Quite dry in the finish. Drinkable.
