Cask (gravity dispense) at Reading Beer Festival, April 2006. Copper colour. Fairly hoppy aroma but I wouldn’t have picked up that the hop was Chinook. Slightly resinous but not particularly fragrant. The flavour has a very strong "hop juice" character. I found it maybe a touch harsh. Clean and crisp though.

Cask at FFTMC, Oxford with Casey 10-07-08 This beer looks stunningly clear, copper in colour and has a pithy but softened grapefruity nose some malts also there. Flavour just reminded me of that 1970’s starter i.e. half a grapefruit with a sprinkle of caster sugar and a cherry on top. The grapefruit here was of the sweet red variety, nice bite, little crunchy really quite tasty. Most enjoyable.

Cask, Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Warm copper, nice sticky soap sud white head. Melon, pine mulch, a little grapefruit aroma. Hops seem a touch past prime, like they could be last season’s harvest, but it seems like they’re getting the best out of what they had, and what this lacks in subtly it makes up in directness. Simple unobtrusive malt. Nice texture to the bitterness, an attractive dirty garden quality, with citrus here and there. Got this pint with just a few minutes to spare before my bus, and it was kind of a fun one to put away directly. Does not suffer by rushing.

Gravity Cask @ Reading Beer Festival 2006. Bready malts and some hop aroma. Dry with a smooth but aggressive bitterness. For some reason this didnt quite work.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 06. Amber with bubbly off white head. Unsurprising hop aroma. Mostly chinook. Sweet hop in mouth. Quite an attractive bitter with aggressive hop on either end. Needs more malt to underpin it.

Cask @ Reading 06: Amber in colour. Harsh grassy pellet hop aroma. Nice flavour though, bitter and earthy. Juicy citric notes, very dry but still balanced. Refeshing stuff.

duff (5483) - St, Margarets, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 30, 2006
Cask@The Sussex Beer Festival, Hove. Nice, hoppy and dry, with a grapefruity, citric hop character. Lightly caramelly sweetness to start however, but still dry, orangey, citric/grapefruity, very nice, another beer i could have drank all night.
