Hand pulled at the Wellington, Birmingham. Goldem beer, with a still mouthfeel. Sunny fruit, with a smooch of syrup. Plain malt to finish, instead of the hop tang I was hoping for. Pretty OK only.

Bland, boring beer with no ’zing’. It’s just so boring that nothing can be said about it. How many other words are there for boring?

Cask@Reading BF. Perhaps i don’t like goldings or something. Grainy pale malts, with some citric, lighty green, sort of earthy hops. Just a bit thin and boring in the end.

Goldings isn’t the most obvious choice for a pale refreshing beer because of the earthy, dusty character that they tend to impart, but this one works well enough. Clean and fresh, with some citrus. Not a mind-blower, but a pleasant, easy-drinking beer. Cask (gravity dispense), Reading Beer Festival 2005.

Mildly hoppy bitter. Gold in colour, some citrus notes. A little bland but quite refreshing.
