A Mes rate: Gravicask at Reading Beer Festival.
Dark brown with a thin white film. Firstly, I like this beer. Second, this is SO not a mild. It’s full of hops. Slight malt in the back ground but this is all hops and bitterness. Nice beer but miles off the style.

Cask @ Reading Beer Festival 2008.
Dark brown color with a average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is light malty, roasted, moderate hoppy pine, grapefruit. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat. Nice beer but not a mild IMO. (030508)

Cask gravity at Reading BF 08. Black with dark brown edges and a thin beige head. Really chocolatey. But still in good nick, excellent depth of flavour. Velvety in mouth. Tasty and rather woke me up after a poor nights sleep.

Cask Stillage at the Black Horse, Darwen 21/05/2005 Dark and smooth on the palate. Some alcohol present. Some bitterness and roast malt in a crisp finish.

Hand pulled at the Wellington, Birmingham. Dark, almost cloudily opaque blackness, with a nice cream head. Wonderful milky consistency in the mouth - smoothness indeed! Superb flavour profile with a wonderful balance. Some smidges of sourness, culminating in a berry middle section, which is juicy. Prickled ashy main body, with a lurking background roast echo. Perfect for the style, as no flavour dominates or is too prounced, rather this is packed with humming melodies of taste. Silky, refreshing lip-smackingly easy to sup and unbelievably subtle in it’s excellence. For a 3.8% beer, this holds the attention from start to finish and leaves a wonderful lingering bitterness in the throat. This really is one to be savoured and it does appear that this relatively new brewery has now hit it’s stride with this gem.
