Cask (gravity dispense) at Reading Beer Festival, May 2008. Very, very spicy. Not very dark. Not very stout. Not very palatable. The spicing simply swamps everything else. There might be a decent beer struggling to emerge from the spice-fest but who knows.

Clear medium red brown color with a small, virtually none appearance, virtually none lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy spicy, cardamom. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium to light, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat. To spicy IMO. (020508)

Cask gravity at Reading BF 08. Deep, deep brown with thin beige head. Too much spice. Just too much spice. Settles down a bit as it goes down, but the spice is just too dominating and not particularly stouty either. No off flavours or aroma, just far too spicy for me.
