3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle from Niagara Falls Wegmans. Pours a clear bright orange colour with modest-sized white head. Aroma is piney and citric hops with some sweet malt and a little earthy character. Flavour is equal parts citrus and pine with sweetish caramel and grains as well as some of that same earthiness. Carbonation on the gentler side. Good.

Transfer from BA review on 12-26-13-
Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance Ė The beer pours a clear golden amber color with a big billowy white head. The big billowy head has a OK level of retention, fading to leave a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell- The aroma is biggest of pine and earthy hops along with some more tropical fruit aromas. Along with these smells are some lighter caramel and some mild bready smells.
Taste Ė The taste begins with a bit of a bready and tropical fruit flavor as well as a moderate level of pine hop. As the flavor advances the bready flavors dwindle a little bit, all while the hop flavors get slightly more intense and more complex. Other hops of an earthy nature as well as a little bit of a grass, join the pine midway through the taste, with a citrus hop flavor coming at the very end. While the hops increase in strength and the bready flavors decrease some lighter caramel flavors come to the tongue at the very end, with the combo of flavors leaving a decently multifaceted hopped flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel Ė The body of the beer is on the average side with a carbonation level that is average as well. The combo of body and carbonation are good for the hop flavors of the brew all while still maintaining the malt and fruity flavors of the brew.
Overall Ė An alright IPA overall with a rather moderately diverse hop profile in the taste. Not the most super smooth or hoppy, but quite enjoyable none the less.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at the brewpub. Amber, with a fine, thick head. Nose of tropical fruit, grapefruit, nice but a bit faint. Sweet, piny and tropical flavors. Rather full body. More flavorful than the Can. Lake Ale, but somehow that one seemed better put together.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Darien Lake. Translucent orange with a small but sturdy off-white head. Not a lot going on in the nose - maybe guess it was a pale ale. Taste is pretty thin. Nice bitterness though. Lingers. Not particularly good for an IPA, but a nice surprise for Darien Lake.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle from Orchard Fresh, Orchard Park, NY. A slightly hazy amber pour with a ring of cream head; the aroma is a blend of tropical fruit and young birch wood; lots of fresh, green, assertive hops in the mouth; and a strongly bitter dry herbal finish. A rather good IPA.

2.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I got this in Rochester, NY. I poured it at home in the Hudson Valley from a bottle into a shaker. The aroma is not very exciting. There are some traces of resin and earthy notes. It pours a clear amber with a minimal head. Itís not a hop-forward IPA. Itís pretty sweet and while it has medium bitterness. The palate is somewhat oily and lacks an enduring finish. Overall, this lacks the sort of exciting qualities one associates with some newer IPAs out there. It pairs well with Mexican food (I had it with seitan(ic) fajitas).

Hmm... not too bad, all things considered. If I were to compare this to the last bottle of beer available in some strange version of post apocalyptic earth, I would heartily kill a malform3d mutant for it. But this isnít some future dystopia, and we have real grains, yeast and hops available to make fine beverages out of, so here are my problems with this brew.
1) monkeys are not apes. Apes have alphas, monkeys do not. Whatís the difference, you say? Monkeys nest in your hair. Apes can remove your head from your bodu by using your ears as handles. Which brings me to point number 2;
2) This is barely an ipa. "A big, bold east coast animal that throws hops at you"... seriously? Iíve made hoppier beers by accident. And itís a great lakes beer, not an east coast beer. Heck, itís not even that. Itís a finger lakes beer, about 45 minutes from the great lakes, and 20 minutes from any lake. Consider changing your slogan to "a medicore erie canal beer that has a bittering hop, but good luck trying to place that half hopped taste".
3) It has some grain flavor, some hop bitter, none of the taste of Burton hard water and no hop distinction. Plamer said that every hopping method leaves a distinctive taste, and I would say that this leaves none of those. Celebrate mediocrity!
4) Even compared to some of the other custom brewcrafters brews it isnít noteworthy.
Honestly, if you want to create a generic, boring IPA, you could indeed make a soulless, corporate fermented sugar beverage like Coors or Bud with some extracted hopshot. But this is a review of an IPA, which is supposed to be a brew that puts hair on your chest and gives you a taste harking back to the British armies in India. Ipa isnít some boring, tasteless slightly bitter beer, itís a tradition; and shame on Custom Brewcrafters for making a tasteless beverage with a slight tasteless hop bitter. I think Iíll go drink a real beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a hazy orange with little head and not much lacing. Aroma of citrus hops and nutty malts. Taste was citrus and piney and had a pretty good amount of bitter. Medium body and pretty bitter from start to finish, which was good. Pretty basic IPA, nothing fancy, but drinkable and enjoyable.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hyped up by my brother-in-law, who lives in Rochester. Pours yellow/orange, clear, with medium head. Hoppy nose. Hops up front with some soapy notes and not much malt to speak of. Bitter finish. Comparable to 60 minute IPA.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap: copper color with a small white head. Citrusy hop aroma with some different flavors in the hops: pepper, small amounts of sulphur, and some watery vegetables. Different, I perfer NW IPAís.
