bottle... hazy ugly medium gold lots of dirty copper, ugly off white egg head, ok cap, no lace... godawful aroma of plastic and pine resin... overcarbonated from the start, chemical harsh bitter, one nice hop note middle through, but just bad overall

I can only guess after reading all the previous reviews, that those who received fresh bottles liked this brew (as did I), and those who got skunky bottles drank a brew that had warmed and turned stale. Clear medium amber with a full head that reduces to a nice cover, mottled walls of lace. Taste is a typical ale: caramel malt that is taken by clean hops, which allow the malt to share in the finish. Quite easy to drink, good for any outdoor cooking, overall solid without being splashy. I purchased a six-pack while in Rochester NY, and have enjoyed it immensely. Recommended for light drinking.

UPDATED: SEP 22, 2015 Had this at the Flour City Brew Fest. This was a refreshing brew, somewhat simular to a Golden Ale I would say. Much better than that Hoppy beer.

Shared by HogTownHarry with Blankboy and I. Appearance: Light orange, no visible carbonation with a small frothy off white head. Aroma: Grassy (gah!) indeed some slight hops, not a lot, but slight. There’s some soapiness to it too. Flavour: Bitter, but not nice bitter, like rice water with a twist of lemon detergent. Drain pour.

Had at the Rohrbach’s summer brew festival. Per the servers, this is a golden ale. Had hops flowers aroma, hoppy palate with a watery finish. I enjoyed it.

Bottle. Pour is an oddly hazy dark gold with a decent white foamy head. Aromas are heavy with silo dust and sweetness. Flavor is pretty miserable. Lots of honey buns, grain dust and meh.

Bottle from premier. Pours golden amber with white foam head that reduces to a thin cap. Decent amount o lacing. Nose is full of skunk, can not see much past it. Taste has light cracker instantly over whelmed by pine then skunk. Body is light, but not watery. Yikes. This is a stinker.

Light grassiness - some cotton candy/bubblegum. Cotton candy/gum continue into flavor. A bit of dusty malt.

12oz bottle. Golden color with little head. Aroma includes just a touch of light hop presence. Flavors aren’t overly sweet, and there is enough hop presence to be clean and refreshing. A nice "lawnmower beer" that does it’s job.

Thanks again to UDBeernut for kleeping the beer rating grounded and in perspective. Have any of the rest of you noticed that Canandaigua is pretty hard to type? I may be the most complex thing about this beer. while I did get a bit of skunk in the nose it evaporated quickly and left me with a thin bodied ale with a pine punch to the bland body slightly prior to a stale hop finish. A stepping stone brew for BMC drinkers? Never having been to the Lake, I would be hesitant to go there based upon this manifestation of "the perfect compliment to everything that defines Canandaigua Lake" I think I have some three year old cascade hops in my freezer that these guys can use.
