Muddy dark brown; cocoa, hint of coffee in the nose. Semi-sweet chocolate in the finish. Otherwise a straight porter with no surprises.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Lubiere (6988) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 24, 2006
Deep dark porter with a very thin off white head. Nice chocolate malt aroma, with notes of moka coffee. In mouth, a decent light porter, short mouth, but with enough chocolate bitterness to sustain interest. The Real Beer Expo - Rochester, NY, Oct. 21, 2006.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Sammy (6120) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 3, 2006
Brewed for Clark’s Ale House real ale fest 2006. Certain coffee,by scent and by taste, and dark colour with lace. Could not get the creaminess, though there may have been a dash of vanilla. People who like porter were less than enthused. Mouthfeel was on to coffee ground. May work better on tap with added carbonation.
Earlier Rating: 4/27/2004 Total Score: 3.7 Nutty brown, roasty malts in taste and appearance. Cream in mouth like vanilla. Serve not too cold to bring out nuiances and forget your latte at Starbucks. Brownish tan head.

Aroma is average malt (caramel, chocolate), light hops (grass), average yeast (sweat, leather) with notes of tar and dust. Light bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation, and a metallic finish. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ughsmash (5826) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 4, 2010
Bottled. Poured very deep brown with a short cap of beige head. The aroma picked up well-roasted sweeter chocolates, vanilla, and lesser caramel.. very sweet, and quite enjoyable. The flavor had buttery-sweet chocolates, molasses, and a touch of coffee at the core.. light cocoa and earthy bitterness around along with a little vanilla.. toasted sweet chocolates on the finish.. tasty. Medium-bodied with a light-moderate roast to it.. on the sweet side.. I would’ve liked a little more influence from the hops, but it was very good.

2.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 HogTownHarry (4872) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - SEP 11, 2008
Bottle (12oz). After how awful their ESB (yecchhh) was, I’m a-scared! Clear deep ruby pour, small tan foamy diminishing head. Smells pretty damned good - dry nutty roast malt, dry floral bitterness, a hint of sweetened coffee and oddly wet brick. The taste is too light, and a little lemon/sour (hello ESB) - the malt is weak, and the aftertaste of this is sour, stale and unpleasant - what a let-down from the aroma - I’ll avoid product from this "brewery" from now on.
