COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
CB’s Double Dark is all that the name implies and more. THis is a deep chocolatey brown porter that starts out with a deep roasted aroma and flavor. This beer pours with a rich, foamy, natural head. The experience starts with a nicely roasted nose and flavor which gives way to a malty sweetness and finally to a crisp hop finish. Brewed with Pale Ale, Crystal and Chocolate Malts with Northern Brewer and Cascade Hops.

Bottle (12oz). After how awful their ESB (yecchhh) was, I’m a-scared! Clear deep ruby pour, small tan foamy diminishing head. Smells pretty damned good - dry nutty roast malt, dry floral bitterness, a hint of sweetened coffee and oddly wet brick. The taste is too light, and a little lemon/sour (hello ESB) - the malt is weak, and the aftertaste of this is sour, stale and unpleasant - what a let-down from the aroma - I’ll avoid product from this "brewery" from now on.

On tap sample at Custom Brewcrafters in Honeoye Falls, NY. Opaque nearly black brown with smallish head and excellent lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and prunes. Taste of peaty roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Medium mouthfeel and carbonation. A very solid porter with some stout characteristics. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

My wife brought this one back from a trip to Rochester. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with an enormous foamy brown head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was toasty malts, malted milk and cocoa. The flavor was bitter, dryish and roasty with notes of nut, cocoa, coffee and malted milk. The finish was long, dry and roasty with lingering coffee and malted milk. Medium body. Too dry for my liking but decent anyway.

Pours from a bottle into a chalice glass. Head: Minimal tan head that dissipates almost instantly. Color: Deep brown/cola, not transparent. Aroma: Noticable chocolate coffee malt. Taste: Bitter Roasted, dark chocolate. Watery texture (not syrupy) Finish: Lightly roasted taste on the back of the throat. Lingers but at no point is overly strong. Overall impression. Mildly bitter, but easy to drink. Nothing overpowering. Could be something enjoyable to drink throughout the course of an evening.

bottle... dark breen, hint of glassy amber, big light tan head, lasting no lace, the bubbles are too big...really dead nose, a touch of cream, a little coffee, a weird vegetal note, and some off chemicals, something is just off... tastes like generic cream, super thin, nothing but sweetness, not very good

12 oz bottle from a friend in NY. Pours dark black with a thin tan head. Nice roasted malt aroma that isn’t too overpowering. Medium body with a slightly slick/oily mouth feel characteristic of an oatmeal stout. Roasted malt notes up front that give way to a slightly dry finish. Well balanced and not overly aggressive. Overall an enjoyable, creamy well roasted porter. Overall: (B+)
