2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 FROTHINGSLOSH (3388) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 21, 2012
My wife brought this one back from a trip to Rochester. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy orange-brown color with a medium sized foamy orange-tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was sweet caramel, pine, resin, lemon and toffee. The flavor was bitter and tart with a strong Sweettart candy presence and notes of chalk and perfume. The finish was medium length dry chalk and Sweettart candies. Medium body. Eh.

bottle... ugly ass beer, dirty gold/brown, watery ugly bubbles... skunky wet grains attack my nose, some lovely wet dog as well... omg, tastes horrendous, skunk, piss water, stale... one of the worst beers going
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 chris21274 (11) - Buffalo, New York, USA - NOV 22, 2010
Picked this up after a tasting at Consumers. It tasted better at the store, maybe because it was at room temperature.
A - The one I had was cold. The beer poured with a single finger head that was true to style for an EPA. It was a clear, nice amber color.
S - Aroma was extremely bready with some grainy/grasslike characteristics. Low, to almost no hop aroma. Hints of apricot along with peaches.
T - was the same along with some caramel malt sweetness. Definitely malty, almost too much - borderline cloying. Slight bitterness detected from the hops.
M - decent and to style - middle of the road on the palate. Not too thin, but not stout-like chunky either. I would prefer it a bit more dry.
D - I think it’s a pretty tasty beer, but tough to have a few in a row because of the sweet/malt taste that overcomes pretty much everything else.
1.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 EithCubes (3340) - GERMANY - AUG 5, 2010
Bottle. Nutty, heavily toasty malt, light honey and bitter nobles, some dark char. But not exactly inviting. Pretty, hazy light chestnut body with a large rocky yellow-beige head. Medium-full body, sour tang, just really heavy. Charcoal and gritty caramel, dry and light-medium bitter, nuts and toast as well. Couldn’t finish.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 williamherbert (1065) - Syracuse, New York, USA - MAY 9, 2010
Hazy auburn color, almost a dark orange. Not much head but that may be due to the aging in the growler.
Very pleasant and sweet smell. Smells like a lightly malty English Pale. Not much to distinguish it, but nice.
Burnt malty flavor. Has the nutty, toasted quality of a brown, but not as dark or thick. Sweet aftertaste.
Light-bodied, with almost no thickness whatsoever. It’s watery, but I suppose that’s appropriate.
Very light and easy to drink. It’s a standard ale. Nothing to set it apart from any other ale, but solid and pleasant enough.
1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20 Tessic (631) - Brantford, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 23, 2009
This Pale Ale poured a cloudy dark orange colour with next to no head, even after a vigorous pour.Scents include pasta, cheese, bread and malt. First taste was sour with flavours of muck. I think this one is off. Finish is bitter and unappealing. A drain pourer...
2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Radek Kliber (5308) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - SEP 20, 2009
Bottle 355 ml
Appearance: hazed amber with touch of copper , mid dense creamy top. 3+ Nose: soft creamy milky feel with hint of brown malt and chocolate Flavor/Palate : mid bodied with thin watery sides. Mineral feel with creamy fill ins , slight woody sour top. Fells so empty like a there is shell of a beer. Where is inside? Unpleasant tart woody brown malted ending.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 beerbill (2938) - Laurel, New York, USA - SEP 4, 2009
12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear amber with a moderate-large off-white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left light lace. There is barely any aroma at all except for perhaps a trace of English malt. The flavor is pretzels (minus the salt) with a moderate dose of white grapefruit pith astringency towards the finish. I can’t say that I was particularly fond of this beer, but it was not horrid either.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Braudog (4607) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - JAN 11, 2009
Thanks to my wonderful wife for carting this back from NY for me to enjoy on a brief viisit home! It poured dark bronze wiht a thin top. It gave a thick aroma of Goldings/earthy hops. There was a metallic hoppiness in this, very British beer but it was light in body like an American cousin. Definitely quaffable and leaves a nice little sting to the palate. (#3465, 11/2008)
1.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 3/20 ChainGangGuy (3837) - Canton, Georgia, USA - OCT 19, 2008
Appearance: Pours a dark amber body with a thin, white ring of bubbles.
Smell: Torched, dry biscuits, a touch of caramel and a lingering, worrisome tart fruit character.
Taste: Gah! There’s a hit of tart-tasting fruit right off the bat. Some abused biscuity malts, a light hop bitterness, then all you’re left with is tart tart tart.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Pretty poor beer. Not just brewcrafters, they’re Custom Boocrafter. Booooo!
