Bottle. Pours amber with a thin beige head. Sweet malty aroma with a hint of smokyness. The flavor has sweet and lightly smoked malts, with a hint of molasses. Not bad.

[3706-20110429] Tap. burnt roasty grains aroma. Clear, dark red body maybe had some bubbles when poured. Light band-aid roasty malt flavour has a lasting grainy almost smoky aftertaste. Medium body. Can’t really fault a "mabel" beer now, eh? (6/3/6/3/12) 3.0-

2011-04-29. Very dark brown body with a small off white head. Smokey malt aroma. Flavour is similar, smoke is modest but still dominates the flavour for me, drowning out the sweet malt base. Smooth average plus palate. Okay but I found it one dimensional, and that dimension is not one I care for. On tap at Coles, Buffalo

draft at Coles, Buffalo, NY. reddish brown pour. Higher carbonation, boozy, caramel maltiness, light smoke in aroma and flavor. Sort of an amped up (10%abv) Vienna lager with wisp of smoke. Vienna Rauchbier? Needs some work but intersting concept
