Try one and any misconception about dark beers being heavy or harsh will fade away quicker than the beer in your glass. Night Owl Cream Porter is everything the name conjures up in your mind. Through the use of just the right ingredients and processes, we have created a beer with a very creamy, almost silky texture. This beer is black to the point of being opaque, with a full, rich body and pleasant smokiness from the load of roasted malt in the grain bill. The hops take a backseat in this beer, but they offer enough bitterness to offset the malt sweetness.

Nice label, pours black with small head, light palate dark beer, slightly bubbly mouthfeel, nice earthy porter, not so creamy but I don't mind. I'll have another thanks. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at the cabin in New Hampshire. Pours clear, deep brown with a creamy, tan head. The nose holds dark raspberry, chocolate, light roast. Lightly sweet flavour with hints of metal, ashy bitterness, faint chocolate. Light bodied with average carbonation. Dry and ashy on the finish, with bitter scorched earth, more metallic notes, subtle tangy berries, dry milk chocolate. Mediocre.

I found it a little bitter for how it is advertised. Still mild for a porter. Small tan head. Looks like a root beer in the glass. Nothing special and that’s to be expected for the wordiness of the description.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear, deep caramel brown with a half finger, khaki head that thins to a ring. Aroma has mild, creamy notes of roasted malts, dark chocolate, caramel, and a hint of coffee. Taste is balanced. Caramel, roasted malts, and an roasty, espresso finish. Low-medium body and carbonation. Clean in the mouth. Overall an easy drinking brew. Medium caramel, dark chocolate, roasted malts.

Draught at the brewpub. Roasty, coffee nose, wood, rather stout-like roastiness. Dark brown and lacy. Light body. Very roasty, with coffee. Decent and easy drinking.

1/6/14. 12oz bottle thanks to JBVatkeens! Go Noles! Black pour with a small khaki head that fades to a frothy ring and doesn’t lace. Nice aroma, creamy chocolate, light roast, mild coffee, some bready maltiness - really digging it. Good but somewhat disappointing flavor. Light coffee, cream, and chocolate, a little dusty, a hint of metal, too watery in taste. Surprisingly nice thick, slick mouthfeel, despite the flavor. Enjoyed this one, all in all.

Good roasted chocolate aroma. Dark brown appearance with a nice head and lacing. Flavor was of sweet chocolate malt and coffee. Sorta thick, with slight bitterness at end.

Growler at a work picnic. I liked it. Rich, robust, smoky, roasted notes. A very full bodied porter, though with cream in the name, I expected a creamier feel to it. Nice.
