3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 rampmaster (642) - Alden, USA - MAR 16, 2010
Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into mug. The bottle has no apparent freshness date or abv percentage.
Appearance: The body has a very deep amber color with good clarity. On top sits a tall light tan head that was produced by a fairly vigorous poor. It slowly fades but hangs on well, keeping a thin covering to the end.
Smell: First off the aroma hits with a pleasant bouquet of floral, citrus and herbal hop notes with sweet maltiness coming in right after.
Taste/Palate: The flavor follows suit on the aroma with a good mix of hops and sweet lightly toasted maltiness. The floral and citrus hop flavors are up front with sweet and very lightly toasted malt flavor moving in to the middle to balance the hops. On the finish herbal like hops take back over and bring dryness and pleasant bitterness. The palate has an easy drinking medium body that slides right down with just enough carbonation to give it life.
Notes: All things considered this was a fine example of Red Ale and enjoyed drinking it.

Custom Brewcrafter’s St. Patrick’s Irish Ale is a very clear ruby ale with a thin white head that vanishes and leaves decent lacing on the glass. It has a very faint, slightly sweet, malt aroma with a note of herbal, medicinal hops. It’s light bodied, slick and a little watery. It has a slightly watery finish, but it doesn’t leave any grittiness. It’s lightly flavored, but well balanced; slightly sweet with an herbal, medicinal bitterness. Yup, it’s an Irish Red. It’s quite drinkable.

A reddish copper ale with a thin moka head. A strong aroma of butterscotch and strawberries, a bit earthy. In mouth, a smooth nutty malt with nice burned notes, so-so. On tap at ROC Empire Brewfest, Feb. 19 2011.

12oz bottle shared by garthicus. Hazy deep amber with a smallish frothy off-white head. Smells sweet with a bit of paint, vaguely floral. Taste is generic grain and lame anonymous bitterness, nothing much to it - a bit of damp newsprint perhaps, but not even robust enough to muster up offensiveness. Still, light-bodied, somewhat harsh aftertaste (2+). Big ol’ bottle of "meh" indeed.
